Why did you choose to go to Aachen, Germany?

One of the best universities in Germany

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months. Around 2500€ coming from Spain

What is the student lifestyle like in Aachen?

Very international, there are a lot of events every week

Would you recommend the city and the University of Aachen to other students?

Yes, definitely.

What is the food like?

Very international also, there are not so many "German Restaurants" but the offer is quite wide, specially for vegetarians

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Aachen?

No, it is not that hard if you use the Webpages for searching a WG (like shared flats) or the Facebook Groups (is very easy to find them)

How much does it cost to live in Aachen?

Between 300-400 for the accomodation (less if you live in a dorm) and maybe 150€ more for living and party, but it depends on each person.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Life is too short to learn german but yes, there are courses available at the University and free TANDEM programs.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Aachen from your city?

By plane to Cologne, that is quite near.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Aachen?

There are many places close to the main building of the university.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Aachen?

Ponttstrasse, full of restaurants.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Apart from the City centre (old and beautiful), Aachen is pretty close to Belgium and the Netherlands, so there are many cultural sites to visit.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Aachen in the future?

Take an umbrella... or two, just in case.
