Nantes is very well designed for student life. The universities are easily reachable by public transportation. The city is very dynamic, with an enjoyable night life.

The city center is quite expensive. But the network of public transportation allows to find cheaper places just outside of the city.

There are many students in Nantes. It is better to start looking for a place a long time in advance.

Food is great in Nantes. The city is influenced by the Loire valley and Brittany. You can eat Loire fish and crêpes all you want. To find the finest product, go to the Talensac market.

What places would you recommend visiting in Nantes?

If you are in Nantes, stop at the castle of the Dukes of Brittany (it was rencently renovated). The Graslin theater is very beautiful also. And don't forget the Nantes island, with its crazy Jules-Verne-like machines.

Is it good to eat out in Nantes? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are many different places to eat out. The best crêpes are found in the La Gavotte restaurant or in the many restaurants in Rue Kervegan. And, in the afternoon, stop at the Coffee Shop, cours des 50 otages, where you will be most welcome.

Is the nightlife good in Nantes? Where is good to go?

There are many awesome bars on the Nantes island. This is the place to be at night.

What advice would you give future students heading to Nantes?

Plan your stay in advance, it can be very hard to find an accomodation.
