Why did you choose to go to Gothenburg, Sweden?

To get closer to the northern lights (I come from France), to improve my English because everybody speaks a perfect English here, and to discover another country and another culture.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

250€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Gothenburg?

People like having fun. There are many events, many parties, and many places where Swedish and Erasmus students meet to get fun.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Gothenburg to other students?

Yes!

What is the food like?

There isn't a special kind of food. I discovered some new things that we don't have in France but it's not the best point of Gothenburg. You can find a lot of fish, mostly salmon.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Gothenburg?

I share an apartment with a Swedish student for 330€. You can also get a room in a student residence with Erasmus, it's the best way I think. It's difficult to find an accommodation here and the prices are quite expensive. I was lucky.

How much does it cost to live in Gothenburg?

It's expensive. Everything seems expensive to me, but I get good scholarships. And then it costs even less than what I paid in France without scholarships and with an apartment a bit more expensive.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's not a very difficult language but everybody speaks a perfect English anyway. And there are free Swedish courses available at the university.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Gothenburg?

There are many nice bars. I can recommend "King's Head" which is pretty cheap, "Skal" where there always is a good ambience, it's a good place to meet people, and "Pustervik" where there are many events, especially every Monday there is a ping pong party which is very funny and it's also a good place to meet people.
