Even before walking into this 2-bedroom apartment to rent on Rue de la Source, it’s quite likely you’ll be excited. The entire building has been recently renovated and it’s stunning. You’ll have to walk down a set of stairs to get to the second bedroom, as well as to the full bathroom, kitchen and dining area, but when you spot the gorgeous tile floors and ample spaces, you won’t mind. Some of the details, like iron radiators from the original building have been preserved, but everything has been updated and modernized to create a unique space. The fully equipped contemporary kitchen with a 6-seat table has an incredible wine cellar feel to it. On the upper floor, through stained glass French doors, you’ll find an open space livingroom and bedroom with wooden floors, decorative fireplaces, and access to a beautiful multi-level terrace.

Saint-Gilles may not be the most central neighborhood in Brussels, but it’s certainly one of the most interesting, especially if you have an interest in art and architecture. Rue de la Source is dotted with wonderfully eclectic examples of Gothic Revival and Art Deco buildings, and the are is also home to lots of small galleries and art supply stores. There are also plenty of diverse restaurants nearby, not to mention some of the best chocolatiers in Brussels!
