Hi guys, my name is Idara-Abasi and I am Nigerian who spent the last 6 years in Europe. I am a student of the Medical University Pécs, Hungary.

My first trip to Croatia was last year, spring break 2016, I went in Zagreb. It was in close proximity to Hungary so my and my friend, Katya, thought, "why not? " and that's how we started an 8-hour train ride to Zagreb.

Upon arrival, we found a cab; the driver, a bilingual Magyar-Hrvatska man, claimed that the extra short trip from the train station to our apartment was 100 HRK. We later found out that the fare should have cost half of that price.

As far as I can remember, Zagreb was a beautiful and corporate city. Out of all of the sites, I was most delighted to visit the Museum of Broken Relationships. I can highly recommend it. If remember well, it was about 45-50 HRK with a student card.

Some restaurants were better than others but ultimately we discovered that taking a trip to Spar to get ingredients and select from a variety of wines met our needs better than any place with a fancy name and fancy waiters, but meals that were not worth their price. So that's exactly what we did and we made a delightful stew of tomato sauce, chicken drumsticks, and chilli powder with rice simmered in slightly salted butter.

All in all, my trip ended on a positive note although, one of those days, I had a displeasing experience on a bus to Jarun Lake. I'd heard about frotteurism before but never did I think it would happen to me. And yet it did, as a young man thought it would be sexually gratifying to press himself against my back on the bus.

My third trip to Croatia will be, well, today! Osijek this time from where and I intend to bring more pleasurable memories and explore the diversity of its culture. Stay connected to this blog for the updates on my second trip and my current travel plans. Happy Sunday!
