Info for moving to Zagreb

Hi guys, moving to Zagreb is not difficult, more than that it's easy enough, whether you're driving or using public transport. The traffic is not bad, there are enough car parks and the efficient tram system should be the model to follow by other European capitals that are more polluted and bottled. But walking is the best way to get to know a city. For example, from the airport, the Croatia Airlines bus that goes to the airport (one way 50 HRK) leaves from the bus station every half hour or every hour between 4. 00 and 20. 30 depending on the flights, and return from the airport following the same time schedule. A taxi will cost you a lot more.

By car it’s easy to get around Zagreb (the boulevards are wide and parking in a garage is almost free), you just have to be careful with the trams. The Harvtski Auto club helps drivers with problems. The following international car rental companies have branches in Zagreb:

Avis, Budget Rent-a-Car or the well-known Hertz. Take into account that local companies tend to be cheaper. One of them is H & M. (Not to be confused with the clothing store).

Regarding public transport, it is based on an efficient network of trams, but with an urban center as compact as Zagreb, they are not needed. In almost all the stops there is a map with routes to facilitate the orientation. Trams No. 3 and 8 do not circulate on weekends. You can buy tickets at newspaper kiosks. The same ticket can be used to make a transfer if this is done within a period of 90 minutes and always in one direction. In almost all newspaper kiosks you can buy undnevna karta (one day ticket), valid for all public transport until 4. 00 the next morning. When boarding the tram, it is advisable to validate the ticket in the yellow box.

And as I told you, you can also walk. It is an accessible and close city. Best greetings.
