I am staying here for the summer semester and I get 400 euros per month

What is the student lifestyle like in Zadar?

You have a lot of free time, breaks between lectures are around 30 minutes but it depends how much lectures a day you have. For example I have 4 hours break between lectures. Students usually spend time outside the university.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Zadar to other students?

Zadar is not a very big city so if you like bigger cities I would recommend Split but for me Zadar is perfect. The univrsity is great. Everyone is so nice here.

What is the food like?

I have to say but the food is not very good . If you are a vegetarian you don't have much choice at the bar or restaurant at the university. But if you like pizza it is not very expensive and it is actually very good. Also there are too very good places with pancakes.

No it wasnt that hard to find accomodation. It was easy.

I pay 146 euros for my apartment. The food is more expensive than food in Poland. Water costs around 2 to 5 kunas, bread 6-7 kunas, 2 big slices of pizza 10-14 kunas. But the bus is free!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes there is a language course one day a week. The language is not hard for me because I was learning it before and also if you are from a slavic country it shouldn't be hard for you to learn and understand this language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Zadar from your city?

The easiest way is to travel by plane. But I decided to travel by bus because there was no connections between Katowice and Zadar. It was cheap but a long journey.

I dont know because I dont go out very often. Only for the events that ESN organizes.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Zadar?

Restaurant at the university because the prices are cheaper for students. Slatja tajna is a place with pancakes. Ale for coffee or cake "cofe and cake"

You can visit churches, museum.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Zadar in the future?

Don't be afraid!
