I have been in the United Kingdom for over three weeks now and my only meal out with some friends has been McDonald's, so last time my friends and I wanted to change that. We aimed for a different place but we ended up at Gourmet Burger Kitchen, which turned out to be very good.

As students, we would get twenty-five percent off our bill, but only if we got their fancy burgers and stuff like that, so I just got their all round meal for only nine pounds and ninety pence. I got a cheeseburger with chunky fries (they also have skinny ones, and they are literally so skinny that it feels like you are chewing on air), and then a drink called “Strawberry and Elderflower” of which I could also get free refills.

My friends and I turned out to like our dinner a lot and we had a lot of fun. Gourmet Burger Kitchen is a chain and, in fact, you can also find it in other places, such as London (of course). The one in Worcester is fairly small and is fairly new since it was opened no more than one year and a half ago, but they might have a second floor which I did not have the chance to check out. If it is only the first floor I would say it is quite small. Waiters only bring you food, you need to go to the till (the British way of saying cash register, even though I know English I now know some British words as well) and order everything yourselves.
I would say that there are plenty of hamburgers to choose from. There is one of which I can not remember the name, my friend ordered it, but there was like bacon and pesto in it and it just looked so big and good.
The major downside was probably the fact that the bathroom was kind of dirty, but I understand that it was the end of the shift so there might have been someone before me who was simply not nice and the staff did not have the time to clean the mess up.
Because of the fact that this is a chain, I can not guarantee that the food is good in every GBK restaurant, but I can guarantee you that my overall experience at their Worcester branch was a positive one.
