What is it like to live in Waterford? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Waterford is okay where the students live which is about 25 minutes from the city center. The city is nice in places but of course it has its rough parts.
What is the student lifestyle like in Waterford?
The student lifestyle can be good as long as you really get involved in events. As an Irish person I know we can be a bit stand offish at first.
How much does it cost to live in Waterford?
Rent would be around 250 to 350. Theres plenty of big vhain market's to do your shopping which are relatively cheap.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Waterford? Is there any advice you can give?
No, it's not, there's an office in the college for finding accommodation and generally loads of rooms to rent around Waterford.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is same as everywhere, good restaurants and cheap places also. I personally like indian food and meaty irish dishes.
What places would you recommend visiting in Waterford?
Waterford castle, Waterford crystal.
Is it good to eat out in Waterford? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
As I've said before, there's plenty of good restaurants around, Geoffs in the center of town is very good for food.
Is the nightlife good in Waterford? Where is good to go?
Yeah, it's good enough, Wednesday nights are the big nights out with something on must of the week as well on other nights, Crystal is a good spot.
What advice would you give future students heading to Waterford?
Make sure to get involved in societies, and make sure to visit places like Kilkeny and Dublin while here, there only a bus rode away.
