Why did you choose to go to Waterford, Ireland?
To improve my English.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I studied one semester (4 months). I received 500 Euros per month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Waterford?
A lot of homework and a lot of parties :)
Would you recommend the city and the University of Waterford to other students?
If you're not a big city fan, Waterford is a nice place. All you need (supermarket, pubs, school) is within walking distance. Waterford city is close to big cities like Dublin and Cork. Waterford Institute of Technology is a good school with very good teachers.
What is the food like?
Fast food is very common. Good restaurants are expensive. For food, I always prefer Turkish kitchen.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Waterford?
I did Couchsurfing while I was searching for a room. It was a good experience and free :)
How much does it cost to live in Waterford?
750-800 euros monthly average. It depends on the lifestyle.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Irish accent can be hard to understand sometimes but they're all nice to repeat 2-3 times :)
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Waterford from your city?
Flight.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Waterford?
Sinnotts and Foundry for clubbing, Geoffs and Phil Grim's are for pub atmosphere and spending some good time with friends.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Waterford?
I don't think so, I prefer cooking myself.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Reginald's Tower and Waterford Crystal are must-see for Waterford.
