Erasmus Experience in Waterford, Ireland by Thomas
Why did you choose to go to Waterford, Ireland?
I chose to go because I liked Ireland, it's a different culture that I want to discover. In the end, I'm not disappointed.
How is the student atmosphere in Waterford?
The atmosphere is good especially between students and teachers. But the students are quite distant with one another I find. But when it comes to student outings, that's when you see their full potential!
Would you recommend the city and the University of Waterford to other students?
Yes, if wind and very fluctuating weather conditions don't bother you.
How is the food in this country?
Rather greasy, we eat well but beware of indigestions because of "irish breakfasts" or "burger menus".
Did you have trouble finding accommodation in Waterford?
No, but you have to start looking well in advance.
What is the cost of living in Waterford?
Prices are a bit higher than in France for food, etc. The bus is very expensive, the alcohol too.
What is the most economical way to get to Waterford from your city?
You have to go through Dublin by plane and take the JJ Kavanagh buses.
And to eat in Waterford? What are your favorite places?
The REG, the Gingerman Pub and Geoff's are all excellent.
