Erasmus Experience in Venice, Italy by Martin
Why did you choose to go to Venice, Italy?
Because I love history and art especially as a student of sculpture studio. It's an amazing place, is like living in an art masterpiece.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
One semester: four months. From my school 1500 euros. That means enough just for pay the four months rent. If you prefer to live on main island... So everything else depends on you and your own money.
What is the student lifestyle like in Venice?
At Accademia di Belle Arti they are so friendly and open-minded... but I think it's the same about every Venetian. So the students love to drink some glasses of wine in front of the little taverna, to eat and talk with friends and have a fun. On Friday most of the students go to "Murion". Party every Friday!
Would you recommend the city and the University of Venice to other students?
Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia.
What is the food like?
Food is amazing, fresh and fine, but I love to buy all of the stuff at mercato, everything is fresh and cheap, and than cook on my own I love it.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Venice?
No, you can find a lot a lot of rooms and apartments on Facebook.
How much does it cost to live in Venice?
It depends on the part of the city, it depends on the quality, I think it starts about 300 euros.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
If you listen carefully, you will be able to understand the language quite quickly the most basic things and you will be able to speak and use the usual phrases, you would use in shops restaurants, etc.

"Murion" on Friday... and every other day for spritz at Mercato Rialto! Or Campo Santa Margherita.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Venice?
"Pizza al Volo" at Campo Santa Margherita, and almost on every corner you can find something pretty tasty but it depends on money.

Whole city! Everything is amazing there. The whole city is just one big cultural site.
