How much does it cost to live in Venice?

It is quite expensive if you live in the island, but if you live in Mestre, Marghera it would be more cheaper

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It is very hard if you do not speak Italian. Italian people do not like when you address them in English. It would be good if you learn italian before your arrival. But at the university I’m studying(Ca’ Foscari University) there are Italian language courses for international students with discounts(but still expensive)
