What does life in Varese seem like to you? Would you recommend it? What was the city like?
Varese is a small city but it is an important centre! Close to Switzerland and to Milan, it offers varied landscapes- both mountains and a lake, perfect for summer.
How was the university atmosphere in Varese?
Varese has a good University of Medicine.
How much does it cost to live in Varese?
It doesn't cost a lot if you are aware of the different prices.
Is it hard to find accommodation in Varese? Can you give any advice?
Yes, it is not easy because the centre of Varese is very expensive and even the places for the Insubria of Como are not very comfortable.
How is the local food? What are your favourite dishes?
The local food and the "cazola" in our dialect, although the polenta and various meats are excellent.
In your opinion, what places are the best to visit in Varese?
We have the Sacro Monte which is a Unesco World Heritage Site, and there are many art collections in the city centre with enormous gardens (in fact Varese is also called Città Giardino- the garden city) and we are close to Lago Maggiore and therefore the Borromean Islands! Luino is also close by, which is very beautiful.
And to eat in Varese? What are your favourite places?
There are lots of very good restaurants in the centre.
How is the nightlife in Varese? Where do you suggest going out?
The main night for young people is Friday night in the centre.
Do you have any recommendations for future students of Varese?
Absolutely come, it is fantastic.
