Welcome to the good weather!

Hi!

Welcome to my new blog about Valencia. I will try to write many useful tips for you - the new people in this beautiful city.

At first, I would like to introduce myself, that way you will know who's talking to you. My name is Anabel, I'm a student at the University of Valencia and I will be finishing my studies this year in Mass Media and Communication. So, now that you know me better, let's start.

Valencia is a medium - large city in the East of Spain. Its population is around 800. 000 people but many more people spend their lives there because it's surrounded by many little towns whose people go into the city everyday.

Despite the amount of people who live there, the traffic in the streets is ok. You can cross the city with your car in half an hour during the day, something that you can do in 20-25 minutes during the night. As you see, the diference is not too big.

The weather is fairly good all year round. In winter we get used to having between 10 and 17ºC. In general we have the coldest week in January or February with temperatures between 1-2ºC in the night and 10ºC in the day. But other than that, the temperatures are always high: 15-17ºC. It pretty much never rains. I don't really like this part because water is something really necessary, but... well, what can I do, right? (Maybe a crazy rain dance but no, not today)

Spring and Fall are like an extension of the Summer. These two seasons concentrate on rain but not too much because it's not common, as I already told you. Temperatures are about 17-23ºC. And then we have the hell in the Summer. Don't think of it as badly as I make it look like because it's not actually that bad. Temperatures: 26ºC-34ºC. Yes, I know. You don't but you will. The point is that is not too much but the problem is the humidity, that's the key of Valencia's weather.

My advice is that if you have to come to my city as a tourist, do it in Spring or Fall. If you are going to live here, enjoy the year because you have a lot to see and a lot to visit.

But I will tell you in the next posts. If you want me to talk about something specifically, post a comment and I will do it in the next posts.

Bye bye, or as we say: adieu :)
