Paris -A city of dreams

• Paris is a very unique city that anyone would love to visit atleast once in their life time.The city is worldly famous as the City of Romance.As far as I'v heard it is being called so because any visitor would hear french all around him or her when he or she is in Paris.French language is believed to be one of the most romantic languages because of the french songs which are extremely popular all around the world.The smooth romantic french songs have the magical ability to take you to a different fairy world.And also this city is often called as the city of lights because Paris is the first city to light up the streets in Champs- elysée with gas lamps though it is something common nowadays at every corner in the world.And also the french culture enhances the beauty of this city.When it comes to French food ,French tarte tatin is a very famous french recipe.In order to prepare this delicious dessert,you have to peel and core the apples and then prepare the caramel sauce.Then you need to cook the apples until they are caramalized.Afterwards you have to drape the pie crust over the caramalized hot apples.Finally you need to bake it for about 20 to 25 minutes.This is a mouth watering dessert that everyone should try atleast once in their life.Paris is well known for its bakeries and its bakery food items such as baguette,croissant and macarons.I would suggest anyone to visit Paris atleast once in their life time and enjoy its unique glamour which is inexpressible in words.Paris is definitely everyone's dreamy destination which would undoubtedly give them travel goals.And this city would never disappoint any of its visitors. paris has the ability to attract any of its visitors with its breath taking views and places.Paris is a city that would welcome any of its visitors without any classification.The country wherw to this city belongs is the largest country in the European Union nd it is the world's most popular tourist destination.This country gives its main focus on the liberty,equality and fraternity which is also its motto.Paris is the capital of France and in this country of wonders you have the ability to marry even a dead person if you can prove that the deceased was willing to marrying you.And also most of the same gender preferred men and women move to this country as they have the full freedom  there legally even to marry a same gender person.This country has given the liberties to its citizens and even to its visitors and immigrants to the fullest .That might be the ultimate reason for its enormous tourist attraction.
• I would like to share my personal experience in this well known city of romance.I have been in Paris for almost two years and I'm still studying in Paris.I have also had negative experiences yet this magical city can gradually erase all its negativity with its unbeatable glamour.Though I have had negative expeiences ,I still adore this fantastic city.And one thing I love about this city is its language.Though french is one of the most difficult languages in the world ,its smoothness and flatness gradually tends you to learn this language making you go through every possible effort.And also this city has so many unique places to visit and enjoy.The most visited place in Paris is its unique symbol "The Eiffel Tower". It is undoubtedly one of the most famous places in the World.Even a kid would never miss to remember this world wonder.Most of the tourists visit Chateau de versailles,Tour Eiffel,Champs-elysée ,Jardin de la Tuillerie,Musée du louvre,Musée d'orsay,Musée des beaux arts atleast once in their life time.With my personal experiemce I know how deliberately people are yearning to visit Paris atleast once in their life time.Paris is a city with high living standard.Most of the people cannot afford to visit Paris.Specially for asians it is extremely difficult to take visa to paris.But if you immigrate to Paris amd start to do a good job and earn well,ypu can cover up all the expenses you spent in order to visit or to immigrate to this magical city.The income in paris or France is comparatively quite high than in Asia,therefore most of the Asians and also other nations tend to immigrate to Paris with the intention of luxuriating their lives.This is one of the main reason why people tend to choose paris or France as their destination.I have personally seen alot of tourists who leisurely ajd freely enjoy in each and every street in Paris.They have the freedom to enjoy every bit of Paris to the fullest despite of being foreigners.
  
• Though Paris is a city of wonders,it also has some negativities.In paris thefts are really common.It has been something so normal to the extent that even Police does not get shocked or surprised if they get a conplaint of a theft.I myself lost my phone while getting down from the train.People do not even realize how and when they were robbed.These city theives have mastered in this subject.They are so shrewd that the victim does not even underatand when they were robbed.When I lost my phone while coming back home from the university,I went to the poluce in order to make a police complaint,but unfortunately I did not receive any respond from police regarding my complaint till today.Police cannot be blamed as well because thousands of phones,laptops and wallets get stolen each day and it is not possible investigate each complaint going to its depth. I also lost my gold necklace when I went for the medical .I have heard of friends and collegues sharing their negative experiences in Paris.One of friends have lost her laptop while travelling in the train.Most of the people loose their phones due to numerous thefts.people ,specially newcomers and tourists need to be very attentive while travelling in trains and buses and also while walking through paris streets.And also gambling is a very common in the streets where tourists are mostly visited.Gamblers play tricks on tourists and  loot money from tourists.Police has taken actions to keep eye on these gamblers who try to loot tourists by playing tricks.Though these things are prohibited in Paris ,some gamblers secretly carry on these tricks and also sometimes they get caught red handed.
  
• Food is an essential and part and parcel thing in everyone's life.But there are some food items that we should atleast try once  before we die.Paris is well known for its pastries and other bakery  items.Baguette is a part and parcel thing from every french person.I have seen french people returning home after work.Most of the people carry a baguette in their hand and I'v seen people carrying a dozen of baguette as well.French people are so busy to the extent that they take one or two bites from the baguette they carry in their hands.Apart from baguette there are alot of other typical french food items which are unique to french people.Lemon tart,chocolat and pistachio escargot,chocolate falafel,eclairs,bloody mary,savoury crepe,baba au rhum,croissant,profiterols,fig gelato,café crème,hot chocolate à l'ancienne,pralines,coq au vin,meringues,french onion soup,cupcakes,beef bourguignons,croque momsieur are most famous among locals,out of towners and tourists.
• There is a very famous idiom in paris called "Metro ,boulot,dodo".this proverb itself explains the parisian life style.Parisians are very busy with their life styles.They so not even have time to eat leisurely.Early morning they go to work,eat in the train,come back home in the train and go to sleep.They do not even have time enjoy their meals.They take their breakfast while going to work and then again they take their dinner while travelling back home.But there are also french people who enjoy their lives to fullest while following this hectic life style.Most of the french people enjoy the parisian night life after their work.Paris is known as the city of lights as I explained before.The best example for this is the eiffel tower which gets lighten up at night.Most of the french people and tourists enjoy their lives by spending time along the seine river and eiffel tower with their collegues and friends.When it comes to paris night life,it is multi-faceted.Each year alot of venues obtain authorization to stay open at night.Paris night life has become edgier than before with the gradual emergence of of internationally successful and popular music and DJ artists and also they have paved the way for numerous funky events.
  
• French people are extremely possessive about their language.They do not even like to speak other languages apart from french.I have experienced this personally.Even if french people understand english or any other language,if you ask them whether they speak english ,they would directly refuse without any hesitation.They do not even like to show that they know any other language other than french.I think because of this issue,most of the tourists face problems while travelling in Paris.Not every french person is hestating to speak other languages.There are also really kind and generous french people who would help you out in every possile way out.On the top of everything I personally believe that french people are quite disciplined in some cases.They never forget to greet others.They always use french words such as bonjour,salut,bonsoir in order to greet eachother whenever they see eachother.It is a polite way used by french people to respond to others. Though Paris is an extremely crowded city with busy streets,Paris is maintained in such a tidy way with enough garbage disposal bags in every corner,they also maintain different bags for plastic garbage ,paper garbage and other waste.Most of the streets are maintained clean in every way possible.
  
• There is another thing which is praise worthy in France.That is the transport system and its directions.Paris has a population of 2,241,346.Paris is the most populous urban area in the European union.Despite of being the most populous area,Paris has a really efficient and effective transport system.Even a tourist can easily find the ways and directions in Paris without getting any help from a guide.When I first went to Paris,I was a little bit nervous because that system was totally different from the transport system used in my country.But I have to mention that it did not even take two days for me to learn the french transport system and the necessary directions.There is another plus in this parisian transport system.French rail transport is operated by the french national railway company which is the SNCF.And also France has the second largest railway network.Even the TGV trains which hold the world soeed record for conventional trains is also operated by the french national railway company.It takes a really less time to go from one end to the other end of Paris by train.Train is one of the most efficient amd quick methods of transports in Paris and France.There are a set of new trains in Paris which are really comfortable and convenient for the passengers.anyone would love to travel in those trains due to its lighting system,its decors and its convenient seats.There are various types of trains in France such as RER,Metro and a big chain of trains called as "Grand Lignes".The metro lines are named with numbers in paris as metro line 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13 and 14.Anyone can go to anywhere in Paris using these trains and also you can find the RATP application in everyone's phone nowadays which help you to find the routes,directions and train times easily without any second thought.Buses are also a convenient way of travelling in Paris .But it is not convnient as trains because of the traffic in main streets of Paris.Buses are a way good way to travel if you have enough spare time to spend on your journey when you are not in a rush.Paris streets are extremely busy most of the time and I believe that french people are undoubtedly active and efficient.
  
• I personally love French gratine dauphinoise.I would like to share its recipe as it's one of the most simplest and easiest recipies to follow ,and its taste is breathtaking.Most of the time French gratine is made using potatoes,but also you can use any other vegetable that you would think will suit this recipe.You need to preheat the oven to 300F.And then use butter to grase all sides of a bottomed dish.Then you need to wash,peel and slice the potatoes.Then you need to season the potato slices with enough salt and pepper.Then you need to sprinkle grated cheese on the overlapping potato slices .Afterwards you need to place whipping cream,crushed garlic and sprigs of thyme in a medium pot.Next you need to pour the mixture over the potatoes.Finally you need to let it bake for about one or one and hakf hours until the potatoes are soft and the top is golden brown and crispy.I believe that anyone would love to taste this delicious recipe and this is oneof my favourites as well.Most of the frwnch people prefer gratine dauphinoise.Fremch people also have a variety of breads.As I mentioned before baguette is a part and parcel bread from the french people.Apart from that french do have a huge variety of breads.Couronne is one of the varieties which comes in the shaoe of a ring.Batard is a half length normal loaf,ficelle is a long and very thing loaf.France is undoubtedly for its bakery products,that is one of the most well known attractions in Paris.There is also another traditional country bread called "pain de campagne".Often this pain the campagne has a thick crust which helps it to last long without getting spoiled.It is a white bread which is made slightly different from the normal bread.There is also a whole range of other types of bread such as wholemeal bread which is "pain complet",rye bread "pain de seigle,sourdough bread"pqin au levain" and also there is a sweet bread called brioche.I personally love brioche.Most of the french people believe this sweetened bread as well.

• Many bakers have tend to make bread by their own proven recipes.Therefore even a baguette can vary from one shop to the other.Bread from the supermarket counters are usually considered to be very tasty and they need to be eaten as quickly as baker's bread.Most often supermarkets use deep frozen industrial dough,these bread counters are not allowed to call them boulangeries by law.
• The quartier de la chapelle,
  la chapelle is a neighbourhood in paris to which you can go through metro line 2.Also this station is connected to Gare du nord.La chapelle is a area in Paris where you can find Indian saree shops and other local srilankan and indian grocery shops.And also this area is very famous for its srilankan,Indian,Turkish and pakistan cuisines.This area is mostly made from indian,pakistan and srilankans origins.Most of the immigrants from Asia lives in this area.I have been to La chapelle several times when I was residing there.It is a unsafe area which is well know for catcalling and whistling by men residing over there.Alot of tamilians live over there and whenever an indian or a srilankan or a pakistan go there ,those men tend to catcall often.It is often like a mental harassement most of the time.I have seen alot of women complaining about catcalling and whistling in this area.But there are also alot of positive aspects which can be taken into account in this area.It is extremely hard to believe that catcalling could happen in France.It is a well know thing that this country proudly states that it is a country or freedom of liberty.Therefore it is quite a unfortunate thing to say that these things happen in Paris.When it comes to positive things ,I love the fact that I can find a variety of indian,srilankan ans pakistan food items which are unique to those countries in Paris.As an asian even I crave to eat our local food sometimes amd this places gives us the opportunity to taste our local food recipies.But i personally know some girls who refuse even to visit this area because of its negative reputation.Actually even I believe that a girl should never go to this area all alone without any friend specially if you are an Indian,pakistan or a srilankan.When they find that you are from one these origins which is evident from our looks they tend to whistle and catcall more.I believe that this is hilarious specially in a developped country like France where anyone has the right and freedom to wear whatever they want and live the life od their personal choice.
  
• Refugee crisis
• Refugee crisis is a main issue in France.There are thousands of refugees immigrating to Paris or France each and everyday.Recently due to the Syrian war,alot of syrians moved to other countries specially to France.I have seen alot of Syrians begging all around in Paris specially in metro stations.It is really pathetic to see people begging with their kids in hand.They already have so many problems due to war in their country and on the top they go all aound begging for money and other ways of help.I do not even understand sometimes why Syrians beg in metro stations when french government provides them with necessary food and accommodation.Perhaps they might be trying to earn extra for themselves.Once I can remember while I was travelling in the bus I saw two boys sitting in the pavement of one of tge streets in Paris.They must be around 8 or 10 years of age.It was really pathetic to see them sitting on the tar road during the summer this year.They were holding a board in their hand in which it was written "fanille syrienne".They were so helpless because they did not have any other option than to beg in the roads along with a board.And hardly a person gave money to them.They were writing again and again over the boards in order to pass their time.It was undoubtedly so miserable to see kids begging in parisian streets.I believe that the kids should never beg in roads.If theg learn to beg when they are kids,they will definitely have negative effects of this once they grow up.As parents,adults should understand that they should not ever send their kids for begging.The problem with refugees is that they think if they send kids for begging,they will get more earnings than when they go for begging.But the parents should understand that by doing this they are ruining their cbildhood.French government is really helpful towards refugees.They always tend to help them in every way possible.Despite of that,refugees send their kids for begging.This is something really unacceptable.French government does have legal procedures for refugees.They have to go through the court cases in several levels in order to obtain the french visa.But hardly a person obtain visa nowadays because the french government is aware now that the most refugees try to mislead them by fabricating false stories.French government also provide funds for most of the refugees and they also have office to help the refugees who end up in Paris or France.I personally knew some ladies who received 350€ per month as a refugee without even having a valid french visa.I do not think any other country would help the outsiders like this paying from their government based money.Perhaps these things happen because refugees do not have any value of what the french government do for them freely.They also get a very big discount on the transport cards which is called as "navigo" in France On top all above facilities they get free medical insurance with free medical services most of the time if you follow the correct refugee procedures.
  
• Illegal residents- Though Paris is a highly developped city well known for its strict police.Most of the refugees tend to stay in Paris illegally even after receiving a letter from the french government asking them to leave Paris right away along with a deadline.Most of the refugees still tend to stay in France secretly and illegally hiding themselves from police as they can earn well in Paris.
  

• Along with the above topic there is also another subject which needs to spoken of.That is the beggars in Paris.Though Paris is a highly developped country it is hard to believe that this country is full of beggars.Though my country is not developped as France,Webdo not find that much of beggars in our countries.But in France you can find beggars in every corner of the metro stations.There are various types of beggars.Some beggars beg without doing anything to entertain the passengers,but there is also a set of beggars,actually you really cannot call them beggars but musicians or artists because they earn money by singing dancing playing instruments in metro stations,inside trains and roads There are also a set of street earners who play magic tricks and earn money.When it comes to beggars it must be a headache to the passengers because every corner you can find beggars asking for money or" ticket restaurents" which are tickets by which you can get food in return.It gradually becomes a headache for the passengers because they cannot give money to everyone who asks money from them.Even the passengers earn money eith so much difficulty and they cannot simply give away money to anyone who begs infront of them.
  
• Reactions of Parisian street beggars- It is a must to watch.You cannot really believe thT they would react like that uf you do not give them money.It is something ridiculous because it is on rhe hands of passengers to deckde whether to give money or not to the beggars.Some beggars unnecessarily gets furious over the passengers from who they asked money and they tend to accuse those passengers using filthy words which are unacceptable.I have personally experienced this and the passenger gets frightened because of the reactions of the beggars.It is luke a harassement for the passengers.Therefore sometimes the beggars turn out to be scary and frightening in Paris.
  
• There are some areas in Paris which are really famous for the thefts and robbing such as Barbes rochechourts,La chapelle and Saint Denis.People need to be so careful while travelli g in these areas.You are taking the risk of becoming a victim of robbing or stealing while travelling or walking in these areas.You cannot really recognize the theives properly if you are an outsider and you are new to Paris.Most of the french people are aware if these people but still even they get robbed in these areas.In these areas streets are extremely crowded so you do not even realize when you were robbed.You cannot even really guess or find the person who stole ypur belongings.It is better to be careful than to regret later.And also there are some people who comes to you askng for help such as "can you please give me your phone to make a call,my phone's battery is dead".They give this excuse to get your phone but actually they are planning to steal your phone.Therefore people should be really careful while handling with strangers.Because of this issue it is really hard to recognize who is genuine and who is fake all of a sudden.There are so many tricks and ways that the theives follow in order to rob the passerby.It is mandatory to be aware of those frauda in order to keep yourself safe.Once I went to barbes rochechourt,and there was a guy who was trying his best to stop me and get money from me by selling the phones and other electronic items they have stolen.And also from my personal experience I know that alot of unbelievabke things hapoen in France.Once when I went to the market in porte de clignancourt,there was a man who was making all his efforts to sell a apple iphone 6 to us for just 100€.It is evident that they ade not genuine ones.Thry must have stolen them from somewhere and they try to sell them for lesser prices by fooling the passersby.Some people who do not know about these tricks tend to buy these phones as well.It is obvious that they would tend to buy them because where can you a apple iphone 6s for just 100€ .That is like a dream .There are lots of gamblers,robbers and theives in Paris who try to mislead the buyers and loot them for something which is not worthy enough.
  
• Then I will discuss about the weekly markets held in Paris.Weekly markets in Paris are quite a common thing.And also there are lots of unbelievble things about this city of lights.Most of the tourists do not know about the markets in Paris.And quite unbelievably people do not know about these weekly markets.The range of prices in these markets vary from 1€ to 5 or 6€ most of the times.There are also some shops in these markets in which everything is sold just for 1€.You cannot even buy these products for 12€ in outside shops in Paris streets.Markets are highly in demand that those roads are close for buses and vehicles those days in which the weekly markets are held.There are lots of positive things about these markets.You can find each and everything in these markets such as clothes,kitchen pans and pots,shoes,slippers,stationary,cosmetic products,gardening products,jackets and all other plastic items.Those prices are also not high as outside shops in Paris.The price ramge in markets are relatively quite low.Therefore people tend to visit these markets in order to buy their essentials.You can also find vegetables and fruits in all varieties in these markets letting you go through a huge shopping experience .People love going to these markets as they providenitema for reasonable prices.There are three pairs of socks for just one euro which is quite cheap.There are also lot of sttionary for cheaper prices unlike in outside shops in Paris.These markets hold their customers quite tightly.Almost every customer or buyer tend to visit these markets every week.These markets are mostly held on wednesdays,thursdays ,fridays,saturdays and also on sundays.Normally a market is held two times a week but it depends on the area on which days they are going to hold the markets.Each area has its own days.Normally those days do not change. People do not believe that there are items to be sold for that price in France as usually price range is higher in France.Some people believe that items sold in markets are of low quality,Perhaps it could be,but those products are quite worthy for the price paid.Alot of people specially the tourists and foreigners are unaware of these markets.But most of the french people visit these weekly markets in order to buy their household necessities,vegetables and fruits.

I like Frenchmen so much because even when they insult you they do it nicely.This quote is absolutely true according to my point of view.Some Frenchmen themselves say that they are rude.I have experienced this as well.When I first when to Paris there was a girl sitting next to me in the university.I was quite nervous and I asked her "est ce que vous parlez anglais".She replied instantly saying "Non j'ai pas".I found that so rude as it was my first day in a french university specially when I am doing licence d'anglais which is the english degree.

Paris ..is a world meant for the walker alone,for only the pace of strolling can take in all the rich detail.This quote regarding Paris is also very true.Paris is a place where you can enjoy yourself all alone even if you do not any company.Its richness makes everything full and beautiful around you while you are walking through the refined arts and glamorous places in Paris.

Whenever you are in Paris at twilight in the early summer, return to the Seine and watch the evening sky close slowly on a last strand of daylight fading quietly, like a sigh.The evening by the seine river during the summer is magical moment that anyone should never miss.It takes you to a different world where everything is calm and tranquil and also indescribably beautiful.I have experienced this and it is one of the most memorable things in Paris that everyone should experiemce atleast once in their life time.

   • Racism is a part and parcel topic from France or specially from Paris.Alot of things are decided on your origins and it is often unfair.Most of the time even jobs are offered based on your skin colour and your origins which is absolutely unacceptable.I have heard french people itself talking about racism existing in the university.And also in the working places some things are decided based on your origins and skin colours more than on your qualifications.There is also another important thing regarding Paris.Most of the time in Paris even to clean and collect the garbage you need to be a french citizen.This could be unbelievable to many as most of the countries do not look for these qualifications for these kind od jobs.I believe that Paris is really a city of wonders.I have seen people struggling for jobs in Paris even for Paris.In France the normal rate per hour is 10€.Bit most of the renowned institutes and companies pay lesser than that after the deductions.Therefore most of the people prefer doing part time jobs than doing full time jobs as they can save their time while earning quite a worthy amount.But I have ti mention that everything depends on luck.If you have your luck with you ,you might get to grab an opportunity.I myself have seen the miracles of luck.I knew a friend who did not know a single word of french but she was able to find a jobin a renowned international company which is in Paris.
     
   • I believe that Paris is a city with proper management.It is well organized.The way roads systematically divided,people can avoid unecessary accidents easily.There is a different line for pedestrians and also there are different lines for foot bicycles and other vehicles.There are also environmental anti pollution days held in Paris in which everyone uses public transport and foot bicycles without using their private vehicles.And also I love the way how the transport system is managed in Paris.Buses are always on time and the time the mext bus would arrive is displayed in a board which is extremely convenient for the travellers.People do not need to keep standing in bus stations and train stations as you can check the train and bus times im RATP and SNCF applications which are available in smart phones.But if you take the bus you take the risk of getting late due to traffic unless buses are always on time which ia displayed on the bus station boards.And also the directions are displayed in the bus stations and train stations.Therefore people do not get lost in Paris most often.French transportation system is even convenient for its visitors.That is a really positive thing in Paris that is hard to find in other countries.
     
   • Paris is a place where you can enjoy all alone.I myself have visited ,walk through the streets in Paris quite leisurely.I have to mention that cheap things like catcalling and whistling are extremely less in Paris.Therefore ypu can enjoy the epic beauty ,refined culture ,traditional buildings and other breathtaking gardens and views in Paris.I love tasting food in turkish and greek restaurants in the streets.we can find hundreds of turkish and greek restaurents in Paris.And the prices of these restaurents are one of the cheapest you can find in Paris.And I am pretty sure that anyone would love to taste this delicious and crispy and soft food in these restaurentsmI love those personally as they are impressively spicy and quite similar to pakistan ,indian and srilankan food which are literally very spicy and yummy.And also you can make your tummy full for a really less price which is about just 5€ ,sometimes this also includes the beverages as well.This is one of the best things i love trying in Paris.Sometimes tgese portions are enough for two people.Therefore I always share it with a friend.And also ypu can find these turkish and greel restaurents in busy streets in Paris where lots of tourist visit most often such as Saint michel,Barbes rochechourt,Porte de clignancourt and saint lazare as well.
