Generally, what is University of Trento like?

I graduated at the University of Trento in 2015 as a bachelor student in Economics and Managemet. I am deeply satisfied with the academic preparation offered by the University of Trento, since I am currently attending a Master at the Copenhagen Business School and I can easily follow any subject and attend the related exams.

Studying at the University of Trento requires a certain degree of dedication and effort, nothing comes without sacrifice, but everything is paid back fairly.

I would definitely recommend the course in Economics and Management I attended. The workload is sometimes high and tough, but it offers a wide and complete understanding of the economic context.

As in almost all Italian universities, the academic path is much more knowledge-and-memorise-based rather than practical, so you have to be aware of the fact that if you are going to study in Italy, you will be expected to memorise a lot of materials in order to pass the final exam.

The most strength of the University of Trento is its smooth organization. Clear rules and regulations will make your academic path easier and quicker.

What are the facilities like?

The departments of Economics at the University of Trento is centrally located, close to station, library and canteen. The facilities are recently renovated, but not so good looking. The classroom are fancy at all, but functional.

What are the tutors like?

The lecturers are generally good. Some of them are better, clearer and more passionate than others, but all of them are well prepared.

Are the lessons easy in University of Trento?

I wouldn't say easy at all. In some cases, the exams are very like the simulations we did during lessons, so it comes natural to find the exam quite straightforward, but mainly, they require a high level of preparation, intuition and critical thinking.

Attending lectures and classes is highly helpful and determines the 70% of your overall preparation.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

The main extra-curricular activities organised by the University are guest-lectures, company presentations and hirings and international competitions. One example is the marketing game (a one-week marketing European competition in which students are hosted by a partner university abroad and challenge each other by running a fictional company with a simulator)

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

I think the quality of teaching at the University of Trento is excellent. Even higher than that offered by private Italian universities, as I could see by comparing my level of preparation to those of my master fellow students.

Are there any stories you can share?

Studying at the University of Trento has been the best experience of my life. I struggled to get a good grade sometimes, but any effort spent on books was paid back with a 110/110 final grade.

I built fantastic and enduring relationships with my classmates. The competition in the class was present, but fruitful and always respectful. Of course, this factor depends on the people you will share the studies with (I have been very lucky), but the studying environment is generally open-minded and not pretentious.

I loved sharing moments with my fellows when I was at the University of Trento. Unfortunately, the city doesn't offer a frenetic nightlife, but the house-parties saved our social life.

When you will be studying at the University of Trento don't forget to take advantage from the student associations like AIESEC, jeTN and utfen, enjoy the sun chilling in the courtyard during springs and never miss a Mesiano party.
