Experience in University of Malta, Malta by Marija

Generally, what is University of Malta like?

Very relaxed, not a lot to worry about, some lecturers don't go through the essays or assignments submitted so they give multiple students the same grade without reading through the work, if lucky - don't need much preparing.

What are the facilities like?

Insufficient, the only facilities are in the library into which you cannot carry any bags which is uncomfortable if you have a lot of notes or laptop, there are security stands and stickers on the books so that it would beep if someone hasn't borrowed a book before carrying it out so unnecessary inconvenience, also no drinks or food allowed, inconvenient when working long hours.

What are the tutors like?

Friendly, helpful, easy going.

Are the lessons easy in University of Malta?

Yes, in the Faculty of Humanities they are.

Does the University organise activities? If so, what are they like?

Not a lot, and if they do it is very hard to get to know about them and they don't do a lot of advertising.

Do you think there is a good quality of teaching?

Some lecturers give very good lectures, however, some don't. There is no set standard on how teachers should give the lectures therefore it is based on luck who to get in your lecture.

Are there any stories you can share?

Half a class received 60% mark for their grade which is a C. It is quite unlikely that about 15 students can receive exactly the same percentage not more by 1 and not less.
