Generally, what is Charles University in Prague like?

Charles University was founded in 1348, making it one of the oldest universities in the world. It is the largest and most renowned Czech university, and is also the best-rated Czech university according to international rankings.

What are the facilities like?

For historical reasons, the various parts of Charles University are scattered over many different locations. At the most faculties, facilities are sufficient. The University also has several sports complexes and other interesting places where people can meet and spend their free time.

What are the tutors like?

One of the leading research universities in the country. Teachers are active, internationally recognized experts in their respective fields. The most of them are profs. or docents.

Are the lessons easy in Charles University in Prague?

It is hard to say. For eample, I study second faculty of medicine, I can not say, that we have particulary easy lessons.

Does the University organize activities; what are they like?

Growing number of courses and the widening range of activities pursued at the University’s various faculties. In addition to a range of music and drama societies and film clubs, the University also hosts many exhibitions during the academic year.


Do you think the teaching is of a high quality?

I would say, it is European standard.

Are there any stories you can share?

Well, it can be a little bit tough at the beginning of the study, but after a while when you explore Prague, and start to orient here, you will take up to like studying here.
