Erasmus, Dublin

Hello everyone!

I had the pleasure of living in Dublin for 9 months, between 2008 and 2009, because of an Erasmus exchange programme. I attended the University College Dublin for a whole year where my field of study was "Arts & Celtic Studies".

It was probably the best experience I ever had so far and if I could go back in time I would certainly repeat it.

Ireland is such a beautiful country and Irish people are one of the nicest ever: they are friendly, kind, cheerful and always ready to help you.

Dublin, the capital, is a vibrant city. With its pubs, theatres, cinemas, parks and all the other places, you never get bored.

Morever, music is an essential part of the Irish culture (some great artists come from Ireland, for instance, U2, The Cranberries, The Corrs, The Script... ) and you can always find someone busking around the city centre. The "party" atmosphere that you can breathe walking around the city is probably what makes Dublin so special.

In addition, you can walk through the city centre and reach the major tourist attractions like: St. Stephen's Green park, Grafton Street, O'Connel Street, St. Patrick's Cathedreal, the Trinity College, lots of museums and, of course, the famous Temple Bar.

University College Dublin, in Belfield (South Dublin) is the largest university college in the country and you can choose among a great number of courses and extra activities. It is well connected to the city centre (which is about a 20-minute-bus journey from the campus).

In the end, I highly recommend a visit to the other Irish major cities such as Cork, Limerick, Galway and Belfast (Northern Ireland) because every corner of this beautiful island has something new to offer.... and you would never be disappointed.

When you leave Ireland, you also leave a piece of your heart behind.
