What is it like to live in Torino? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The people is nice and friendly, they will always help you. But the most of them at streets doesn't speak English,but they cand understand Spanish and French. The life in Torino is quiet but there are many activities to do on weekends or places to visit. People is kind and the pasta is great!
What is the student lifestyle like in Torino?
From my point of view is busy but nice. During the week theres is not enough time to go outside, and the moments of spend time with friends is during the lunch. But the people is nice and open, they immediately adopt you,so it allows you feel comfortable anytime.
How much does it cost to live in Torino?
It's expensive if you are going to stay for a short time, since the most of the people don't want to rent for less than 6 months. So you need to pay extra in many cases. And the food, of you have the possibility to cook at home is great, you will save a lot of money. Regarding to the public transport you can buy a 15 passages card for 17.5 euros. So it's fine comparing with others European countries.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Torino? Is there any advice you can give?
Yes, it's no too easy. mostly if you are going to stay less than 6 months. My advice is looking for the place in advance. And before rent check the transport availability to reach your destination, since is not an easy issue here.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
It's good, but I must confess I was expecting more variety .. But, definitely the pasta is great in all the kind of presentations,and the oranges, ice cream, wine and coffee! As well.
What places would you recommend visiting in Torino?
All the turistic places are just magnificent. PALACIO REALE, MEDIEVAL CASTELL next to Valentino'Park. The Saint sindole's Church. The main squares.
Is it good to eat out in Torino? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
There is a great place called M, is delicious with variety of food, clean, nice place, for a good price.
Is the nightlife good in Torino? Where is good to go?
Around Piazza Victorio are located the main places to have a drink, but is a little expensive. The cocktails around 7-9 euros each one.
What advice would you give future students heading to Torino?
Enjoy the experience, and search for a home near to your university but as well connected to the downtown, then you will have the possibility to enjoy more the place . And is important that the place has a kitchen, then you will save money cooking at home. And is very important consider that in Torino, the scholarship and all the administrative process take time, so before to came save some money to live while the scholarship arrives to you.
