An experience in Turin, Italy by Marta
How was Turin as a place to live? Would you recommend it? What's the city like?
Turin is an easy city to live in, there are lots of students, and of foreigners as well. I would definitely recommend it, it's a big historic city, with lots of museums.
What's the student atmosphere like in Turin?
There's a friendly, family-like atmosphere, even if it is a bit all over the place. The professors are very skilled and available for you. There are lots of libraries and rooms to study in.
What's the cost of living in Turin?
It's a little less expensive than in Lyon, for example a room in the centre would cost about 400 euros.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Turin? Do you have any advice about this?
No, there are lots of sites to help you find accommodation.
What's the food like in the city? What are your favourite dishes?
It's an Italian city so the food is good quality. Pizza, of course!
What places would you recommend visiting in Turin?
The Museo Egizio, the Mole Antoneliana and Via Po.
And for eating in Turin? What are your favourite places?
Sakura if you want Japanese, the Divin Panino for a quick meal, otherwise in the centre there are lots of choice.
What advice would you give to future Erasmus students in Turin?
Don't be discouraged if the University seems a bit disorganised and don't be scared to ask whoever is in charge of Erasmus students as many questions as you want.
Pay attention to thieves, especially on the bus.
