Why did you choose to go to Turin, Italy?

I wanted to see Italy, since the other European countries were already familiar. The other choice was Rome, but I preferred Turin, since it's a bit smaller and close to the nature.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It was 4 months. I received monthly 600 euros from my government and Erasmus support of under 2000 euros if I remember it correctly.

What is the student lifestyle like in Turin?

It is ver vibrant. I'm not a clubbing person anymore so I would have wished a bit more lounge/ chill party places with a dance floor. However, the other students had plenty of weekly parties in clubs.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Turin to other students?

Definitely. The only problem was the grading system. It's very cruel.

What is the food like?

The food is amazing and there is cool restaurants in every corner.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Turin?

I wanted to be early and got an apartment from AirBnB, which was pretty costly. Other students were living in student flats, which was a lot cheaper.

How much does it cost to live in Turin?

For me the rent was 600e/ month, but for many others it was about 300 euros. The transportation card was about 20e/month and the food was lunch 10e and dinner 15e with a wine.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's pretty easy even though I didn't have any experience before. There is courses for every level in Unito.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Turin from your city?

From Helsinki to Turin it was very expensive to fly and you had to fly to Milan and take a bus. There were not even another option. But from other countries it's a lot cheaper.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Turin?

San Salvario is easy to go to. Different kind of places for everybody.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Turin?

Best pizza from Napples or Cammafà, but you can trust on Tripadvisor.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There is a lot, all of the museum. They have also the biggest Egyptian museum in Europe.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Turin in the future?

It's easy to get used to the city. You can do plenty of trips to everywhere and also to another countries. People also speak good English.
