Why did you choose to go to Turin, Italy?

I have never been here before. I applied for Erasmus + @Politecnico di Torino and I got accepted. And that's why I decided to come and not miss this experience.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months I received enough money to cover my expenses, the only thing that I was asked to do was to cover the first month expenses by myself because the procedures took some time.

What is the student lifestyle like in Turin?

Well I must say that Turin somehow is underrated. You have a lot of things to do here and beautiful places to see! As a student you can find a looot of groups that organize events and specially for erasmus students and that doesn't mean only parties but also cultural activities, trips etc. And overall they are not experiensive!

The food is delicious! If you come here you must try their traditional products. They also have some street markets where you can buy fresh products with a cheaper price... and for the chocolate lovers, prepare to spend a lot of money!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Turin?

Well actually It took me 2 weeks to find accommodation here because I decided to find it after coming here and not online so in this way I could have the possiblity to see it! But it works both ways, my friend found it online and it was the same thing. For a single room the cost varies from 300-450 with expences included.

Turin is not so expensive compared to other cities in Italy. The prices are affordable. And if you don't like cooking you can at at your university canteen where you can have 40% discounted price as an Erasmus student after you get the student card. And if you are a cooking lover like me you can spend less money by buying your products from the market!

Yes the university offers a free Italian course, but also the Erasmus student clubs offer courses for free for different levels of study.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Turin from your city?

From Albania I think the most economical way is by bus, but it takes a lot of time so I prefer by plane and it is not too expensive around 100€ for a one way flight -direct line that it takes only 2 hours. By bus is half of the price.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Turin?

There are a lot of places depending of what you prefer. Mostly youth go around San Salvario! But also you can stay in the park with friends and have a loot of fun!

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

You better not miss them because there are a lot of cultural places to visit like :

Mole Antonelliana

Palazzo Madama, Teatro Regio, Basilica di Superga, Chiesa della Gran Madre di Dio, Chiesa di San Lorenzo, Palazzo Carignano, Palazzo Madama, Porta Palatina, Castello del Valentino, Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile, Egyptian Museum... and so many others!
