Why did you choose to go to Turin, Italy?

The language is easy, the university has a good reputation, the culture there is similar to Spanish culture, it's not too far from home.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I didn't get anything because of the cuts this year...

What is the student lifestyle like in Turin?

There are a lot of young people and students from lots of different places near the polytechnic and the university. It's a young city with regards to its people. There are also a few clubs and bars for Erasmus.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Turin to other students?

What is the food like there?

The pasta and pizza are excellent. The fish there is good too, as Italy has a lot of sea access.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Turin?

Not really, I found a place online and sent the people a message.

How much does it cost to live in Turin?

A double room cost me €300 a month, and spending €100 a week on other expenses, I think that should be enough for a student.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

I more or less managed with Italian. I went on a course in the beginning at the University of Turin (beginners) and now I've move up to the intermediate class.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Turin from your city?

By plane, depending on the price to comfort ratio.

Where would you recommend for a night out in Turin?

Centralino, Quasar, Loud, Vogue, 84...

And to eat in Turin? What are some of your favourite places to go?

I always ate at the restaurant at the university, because they're very affordable. Apart from that, I like to go to pizzerias in my area (Fortino).

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Royal Palace, the Armory, the Library, Egyptian Museum, Automobile Museum, Weapons Museum, Carignano Palace, Museum of Antiquities.

Do you have any advice for students who will be in Turin in the future?

Save your money, living away from home costs more. Above all, really enjoy the experience and make friends. It's a good opportunity to learn another language.
