Why did you choose to go to Turin, Italy?

I am doing my internship here and I liked the research center.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months, I receive around 400 a month

What is the student lifestyle like in Turin?

There are a lot of international students in Turin due to the Politecnico, which makes it a really good city to experience your Erasmus time!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Turin to other students?

Definetely!

What is the food like?

We are in Italy, so the food is great of course. A very nice thing about Torino is the Apericena/Aperitivo, where you have a coctail or other drink for 10 euros including a nice buffet of (mostly Italian) food. It's a nice way to start your evening!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Turin?

I found it quite difficult to find a good room from the Netherlands. When you are here it's a bit easier (depending on the time you stay here). Good idea is to search for Erasmus Turin groups on facebook and post something there!

How much does it cost to live in Turin?

300-400 per month for a single room.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Italian is quite difficult for me since it's far from the Dutch language. When you're from Spain, Portugal or France it tends to be easier (is what I hear).

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Turin from your city?

Plane (ryanair)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Turin?

First aperitivo, then drinks in a pub and then to a club.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Turin?

7 nani has great farinata! You should really try it, and the restaurant is really cute and small.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

A lot, since it's Italy. I didn't like the Egyptian museum though, where everybody is in love with haha

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Turin in the future?

Go to Turin, that's all!!!!
