Why did you choose to go to Tromsø, Norway?
I always wanted to go in nordic countries and it was the opportunity with erasmus to go to Norway.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
400€/month during 9 month from the ministère and 166€/month from the Crous.
What is the student lifestyle like in Tromsø?
The student housing are great, you have space and you meet a lot of people, they are close to the university.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Tromsø to other students?
Yes, the city and its landscapes are beautiful and the university is really nice, they really care about students and they organise a lot of events for exchange student.
What is the food like?
It's the same as everywhere when you're a student you go to the grocery and buy the same things you buy back home except some specialities.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Tromsø?
No but you need to apply very soon for student housing, because there is waiting lists and you may have to wait a long time after your arrival to get student housing, or you can find accommodation in the private market but it's more expensive.
How much does it cost to live in Tromsø?
Around 900€/month
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
You get used to speak in english because everyone speak english in Norway, but it's harder to learn Norwegian because it's easier to speak english since everybody speaks english. And yes you have courses in Norwegian, in english and in spanish.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Tromsø from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Tromsø?
In the city center there is a lot of place and bar to go out, but it closes at 2am and 3am on week end, the last bus is around midnight so you have to take the night bus at 3h30 (more expensive) or the taxi to go home.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Tromsø?
All the restaurants are really expensive so i prefer to save my money for other things, I really don't know what are the good restaurants in Tromsø.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
There is a lot of museums and nice cultural things to do around Tromsø, but the real attractions are the landscapes, going hiking and climbing in the mountains and fishing in the see.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Tromsø in the future?
Enjoy and bring big socks and sweaters.
