Experience in Trento, Italy by Francesco
What is it like to live in Trento? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Trento is a very quiet city in the north of Italy. Quite small and calm, it's a very nice city if you want to relax and focus on your studies, not so nice if you're looking for parties. Definitely lovely if you're into sport and nature.
What is the student lifestyle like in Trento?
A lot of hours spent studying and chatting with mates at the facilities offered by UNITN. A lot of drinking at nighttime.
How much does it cost to live in Trento?
Rents are definitely cheap. Everything else is acceptable but not as cheap.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Trento? Is there any advice you can give?
No advice in particular, finding a room is very easy.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
I'm vegetarian and Trento is not the best city for us. But you can find typical meals at mercatini di natale.
What places would you recommend visiting in Trento?
Muse, Dos and all the mountains around the city.
Is it good to eat out in Trento? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
I've eaten only pizza and kebab out.
Is the nightlife good in Trento? Where is good to go?
It's not so exciting actually. Best place for me is picaro, you can chill out with a beer in a cosy little square.
What advice would you give future students heading to Trento?
At the very beginning, in winter, in particular, Trento could look a bit sad, but don't get desperate too soon, in a few months you'll learn to love it. You must have a walk near the Adige river, it's amazing.
