Packing

For the past two days i have started to pack for Istanbul and Romania, it's ironic how my time in Turkey is coming to an end in the same time the competition is also over, maybe it's a coincidence or maybe it's destiny in which i truly believe. Packing can be pretty stressful, more if you don't want to leave this amazing country and most of all the people and the culture which were my home for almost two years. As i sit now in Trabzon and pack i started to reminiscence the day when i came here, it was end of July last year and it all seems like yesterday, my two Erasmus experiences in this period ended to fast i didn't even feel them to say the least.

You know i have been always optimistic about the future once that Erasmus was over because i always knew that there is something else better waiting for me, sometimes it was another Erasmus but packing truly can do this thing with you where you can become depressed and start remembering all the cool stuff you did and how ugly feeling you have now that you need to go home. I hate Erasmus endings, i truly do!

One last walk in the city

As i am struggling to put two years of clothes in one bag i decided yesterday just to leave it and go out, take a walk around my favorite city in Turkey and even though was not the city in which i did my last two Erasmus experiences, i still feel like is the city in which i am meant to be. Said and done i went out and spend all my Saturday walking and remembering some memories. First stop was of course my favorite shopping mall ''Forum Trabzon'' in which i spent most of my Erasmus grant and i don't feel bad about it. One of the best activities you can do here besides of course shopping and eating fast food and maybe going to the cinema it must to be bowling.

Last summer it was my first time bowling, i never did it again and i was not so excited about it but always wanted to try it. In Forum mall it cost 20 TL for one round so we did that yesterday for fun. They have a huge place for bowling at the last floor and i saw quite some people there. They gave me this over sized shoes which i was not anxious to wear them, they made me look like a clown and they were so heavy and funny. But anyways i went with the flow and i started playing. Shortly after i learn on the way how is the game playing i also realized how completely bad i am at it. And of course Muhammet totally kicked my ass so i just quite before even warming up. Maybe i need practice but is not something i will do on a regular basis.

Day 8 and 9

Too bad you cannot see a close up of this shoes and what a posture right?!

My second activity after bowling it was leaving the shopping mall and go for a walk near the Black Sea shore. It is something i love doing because in my hometown of Targu Mures, Romania we do not have a sea or even a water opening or something, so being 24/7 in a city with sea it never gets boring walking on the sea shore.

Probably this is what i am going to miss the most, the sea...

Day 8 and 9

Day 8 and 9

Yeah in case you wonder why i took out my winter boots well let me tell you in Trabzon the temperature dropped so low it's unbelievable in the night how cold it can get and when i remember like 3 weeks ago i was complaining of how hot is in Elazig, i cannot believe!

Day 8 and 9

As we walked and walked and remembering all my trips this Erasmus and all the things i did, the night started to kick in slowly and i still cannot believe how is possible like around 6pm everything to be pitch black outside already. And it was like this all summer, how is possible? i know in my city during the summer is getting dark way over 22:00 PM and here no, it's crazy!

Anyways the night was far from over as we returned home and we had a surprised, one of Muhammet classmate came to visit us and i heard he has some skills, like coffee reading skills, which i often heard is like a tradition in Turkey for some women to read your destiny into a coffee. So of course i did not hold back and asked him to read my coffee.

Everybody who knows me, they know how i do not drink coffee at all and completely hate the taste of it but i had to drink a small strong Turkish coffee for this reading which was a challenge for me.

Coffee coup reading

I heard about this ritual often, we also have it and practice it in Romania but is more a gypsy thing or white magic stuff, i don't know much because i am not into it and never tried it but one thing i realized when i was in Portugal with Erasmus that every single Turkish girl was a coffee reader so then i learn this is a Turkish thing.

As i documented myself i learn that indeed is a Turkish thing and is very related to their culture and are women who are pretty good at it and some people do pay a lot of cash for it. It was strange for me to trust what this guy was about to say about me or my destiny because he is a boy but i guess if you are a Turkish then it works both ways. So hardly i drink my entire coffee and then the procedure is to turn the coup upside down and leave it for at least 10 minutes in order to get a good reading. They say that some people with the right skills they can predict your future from the shapes and forms of how the coffee muddy sediment is settled after you drinking it. If you ask me is a bit creepy but oh well!

So 10 minutes passed and it was time for my reading!

Day 8 and 9

If you ask me what i see in my coup is just a black coffee spot and nothing else, no shapes and forms whatsoever. But apparently this guy told me a bunch of things which i do not want to disclosure so i will just keep it for myself and in case are getting real i will tell you all about it maybe in a future post on another blog, but i will tell you that maybe i will start believing in coffee fortune from now. And even if the guy was someone with skills or not i will still give it another try next time.

So guys this was my Saturday which was a great day until i return to packing and then i said there is no turning back to other things, i need to finish and get a closure with my time here and a closure with Erasmus ending once and for all. It for sure will take time to adjust to my life back in Romania or back in Turkey but for better or for worse i know i still have all my memories and pictures to look at and not for one reason i regret my time here in Trabzon or in Elazig!

Catch you later guys with a new post!
