Time is flying

It's been already more a little over a week since i finished my Erasmus internship in Elazig and came back to Trabzon, time is flying to fast i cannot believe this. With one more week to go until i go to Istanbul for my well deserved weekend getaway and around two weeks until i am home for good in Romania. This will be my second trip to Istanbul this year so i already started to make a ''to do '' list and i already know what i want to visit this time, in January when i went first time it was so cold i couldn't visit too many places but now i will have 3 full days just for visiting and have a good time.

Among my sights on my bucket list are the Topkapi Palace because i am such a huge fn of the Turkish serial ''Suleyman the Magnificent '' that i want to visit for sure his palace and the harem. Then i want to take a trip to the Sea life aquarium which is the most huge in Europe with a lot of fish species and hopefully i get to see a shark or two. Another thing on my list is the small city where you can see all Istanbul in miniature and this is called ''Miniaturk ''. So please guys if you have some suggestions for me on what else can i visit in Istanbul besides what i already say back in January please write it down below in comments, thank guys!

As i said for the past week and so since i am here in Trabzon i basically just enjoy my last days in Turkey and due to the fact that are rainy days most of the time i just sit inside and cook or spend time with my babe. During the weekend i have cooked amazing dishes ( make sure to check to Fornetti with cheese and chicken Alfredo baked recipe ) and we had a guest for the past 3 days so i was busy with that.

Yesterday i took a trip to the street bazaar which takes place every Tuesday near to our apartment. It reminds me a lot of my piazza ( market ) in Romania but we do have this every day around. if you are an Erasmus is always better to go and shop local rather than spend big cash on top supermarkets. One thing i hate about shopping from the street is sometimes the seller doesn't give you the option to choose your own products for example tomatoes, yesterday i had a situation like this when i wanted to buy a kilo of tomatoes and this guy he single hand picked the worse tomatoes ever so i refused to buy them of course and after i rushed to Migros ( best place to do groceries in Turkey ).

Day 6 and 7

But sometimes you may find nice and fresh products and extra cheap from the market price. For example now is the season for corn so it's always an option to buy them.

Day 6 and 7

Whenever i go to the street bazaar i always think about how much hard work is behind the 2TL price they ask for the tomatoes for example. This people actually work their butts off and their work is double than a supplier, they plant and grow the product and then they carry it every Tuesday or so to try to sell it. So respect for that and let's try to buy more local products!

Another thing is often to find in Trabzon street bazaar is the fresh fish and most of all here is the freshest you will ever find, caught straight from the Black sea nearby and on to your table.

Day 6 and 7

Just those fishes looked rather different somehow, they all had something red in their mouth so i don't know which fish are this.

Day 6 and 7

Among other products in the bazaar you will find also some clothes and kitchen supply or God knows what other things. I still remember my days in Erasmus Malta when the same every Tuesday in the morning i went to a local bazaar and they had many clothes and nice things to buy, i purchased from there an animal print bath robe which i still use up to this time and i think i paid around 10 euros. And best thing about bazaars is that you can always negotiate the price just don't try negotiate when you are buying veggies or fruits just think about the hard work behind the actual product and try to respect the one selling it.

Now that i spoke about the bazaar so much i am so excited for next week when i can go to the Grand Bazaar and the Spice bazaar in Istanbul, i need to buy some souvenirs from my family back home.

Last but not least on my way home from the bazaar i spotted a nice mosque i always pass by but never took a minute to admire though.

Day 6 and 7

The worshipers were coming out from the prayer in that particularly time. I always been bothered in Elazig from the loudly noise of the prayer every single time because it was so close to us the mosque i literally could not sleep hearing that but here where i sit i cannot hear it at all and i kind of miss it sometimes!

So i leave you guys to it and i am thinking today to take a trip to my boyfriend's university and actually try to speak with someone in charge at the Erasmus office to see if there is a possibility they would hire me. This is a university i know so well so probably i can tell you guys more about it in a future post.

Good day folks!
