What is it like to live in Toronto? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Toronto is not the best city to visit, but it is a great city to live in. I have lived there for 12 years.

What is the student lifestyle like in Toronto?

There are tons of students! And a wide demographic of races, ages and cultures. Get ready for a mosaic.

How much does it cost to live in Toronto?

Not sure, as I've never paid rent. But food and transit for students is quite affordable.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toronto? Is there any advice you can give?

I would advise to not be afraid of living outside of the downtown area, as the transit system is quite good at getting you in and out, and it will be much more affordable outside of the downtown area - as long as you are okay with commuting 30-45 minutes to get to school.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Pancakes! And fresh produce.

What places would you recommend visiting in Toronto?

  • The Danforth area - tons of food, great culture
  • Kensington market, everything is cheap!
  • Bridle Path/Kingsway Crescent to see some giant mansions

Is it good to eat out in Toronto? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Eating out is great! Go to Burrito Boyz, and any gourmet burger joint. It's worth it. Get Poutine at Smoke's Poutinerie - open until 3 am.

Is the nightlife good in Toronto? Where is good to go?

What's cool about Toronto is all of the clubs are in the same area, so you don't have to wander too far. I always go to Bar 244 because they generally have good music, and their alcohol is dirt cheap.

Ladies - do your research. Lots of place let you in free before a certain time.

What advice would you give future students heading to Toronto?

Get ready for fast pace, wide range of cultures and races, friendliness, hot weather in the summer, and cold and snow in the winter. Bring snow boots. And a jacket!

I have a small company in Canada and am having a hard time finding different types of specialist workers. I want to apply for an LMIA but am wondering if anyone can tell me which types of workers are the most likely to be accepted by immigration Canada?

hello bel...You can check on sites like jobsaloon. com. These sites will tell you about the job prospects for different professions. The better the prospects for a particular job the better the chances that immigration will give you both an L MIA and the worker a work permit.
