What is it like to live in Toronto? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Although Toronto is an expensive city, it’s worth the visit. It’s full of soul and culture. Spending a day downtown is a day full of exciting, unexpected and fun experiences. From vintage stores, coffee shops, sneaker stores, parks and music in Kensington market, it’s literally just a good time.

What is the student lifestyle like in Toronto?

If you have the right company, student life is amazing. There are so many libraries, study places, underground social areas and squares that are meant for us students. And you’ll feel right at home when you’re there doing your thing with your friends.

How much does it cost to live in Toronto?

No doubt, it’s an expensive city, even more expensive if you like to treat yourself for coffee or a meal outside every once in a while. But there’s definitely options you can choose from that can help save up. Like going to warehouse (where everything is 5$) or choosing student plans for food.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toronto? Is there any advice you can give?

I wouldn’t say it’s difficult but it’s definitely the most expensive aspect of living in Toronto. I would suggest finding a trusty roommate to rent an apartment/condo with.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is amazing, will never find a problem with that. My favourite places are, Pho metro (the best Vietnamese place in all of Toronto), knockout chicken, any place in China town, al ghadir (for the best shawarma) and alexandros for the tastiest gyros you’ll find. There’s also so many cute and yummy cafes in the area, some of my favourite to study and hangout at, are black bird, sweat and soda, all the cafes in Kensington, north York bistro and Birchcliff’s.

What places would you recommend visiting in Toronto?

Kensington market, queen street and midtown.

Is it good to eat out in Toronto? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

If you’re willing to pay good money then 100%. Some of my favourites are, earls, moxies grill, lavelle, Montana’s, pho metro, any place in China town and Greek town.

Is the nightlife good in Toronto? Where is good to go?

Yes if you go to the right club. Some good ones are love child, lavelle, toy box and many more.

What advice would you give future students heading to Toronto?

Make good trustworthy friends and treat yourself with them.
