What is the student lifestyle like in Toronto?
Many people typically adhere to the 9-5 workday before returning home in the evening. Although it is common for people to go out in the evening for dinner, drinks, or an event through the week, this is usually reserved for weekends. In summer many residents make frequent trips to cottage communities outside the city.
How much does it cost to live in Toronto?
Cost of living in Toronto can be difficult, particularly when paying rent. Often a single bedroom apartment can cost as much as CAN$1400, although cheaper options in shared living do exist. Hydro-electric is another common expense. Groceries are less expensive than in other Canadian cities and their is a good variety in suppliers.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Toronto? Is there any advice you can give?
Housing in Toronto is very competitive. Finding an affordable accommodation can be challenging.
What places would you recommend visiting in Toronto?
The St. Lawrence market and nearby Distillery District are two options where you can shop around for groceries, a flea market, and specialty boutiques. The prices are more expensive here than elsewhere in the city, but the quality of goods is high and the atmosphere is great.
Is it good to eat out in Toronto? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Toronto has a great variety of restaurants. There is a good range of cheap and expensive diets as well as special accommodation restaurants for individuals who are vegetarian, vegan, halal, and gluten free.
