This place is a park in Tokyo, Japan, the city or the part of Tokyo called Ueno. I decided to write about it because I went there and I found it really amazing. I went to Tokyo only for a one day and so when I asked at the reception of my hotel, or at the airport where should i go, everybody told me to go to Shinjuku or Shibuya, the most famous places in Tokyo to see. They were beautiful as well, as my other recommendations say, but they were rather electric places, with lots of lights and shopping centers, which is, on the other hand, typical for Tokyo and that is what people usually want to see when they come. So no blame to guides. It´s just the fact, that nobody really told me about Ueno and I got there by a coinscidence. It´s a very famous place though.
So how to get there: When you are in Tokyo, you take JR train and you go to the station of Ueno. It is on the main line (the main circle) so you definitelly cannot miss it and it´s not difficult to get there. When you get off the train, you will already see the difference between the other parts of Tokyo and Ueno. You see lots of nature around, trees of an interesting shape, the typical japanese trees (pink during spring and red during autumnt). You will see some arrows or signs how to get to the park.
I cannot remember this exactly, but I know that I got there easily and I didn´t know where it was and I didn´t even plan to go there. So you will continue through a park path which you will see right when you get off the train and then you will cross a huge park where you can decide where to go. There is a little ZOO., Unfortunately I didn´t have time to go there.
There is a huge cafe in a traditional style and a bit far away, there is this huge amazing, totally stunning temple, where you can see people praying and burning those sticks which smell so good. It´s very traditional and veeeeery beautiful. You can even have a glance inside. The temple is coloruful and the nature around makes it even greater.
There is a little lake around. You don´t even feel like in Tokyo, but rather somewhere on a countryside for a while.
I recommend this place to everybody who plans to visit Tokyo or Japan. It´s breathtaking and you will be totally amazed, feeling like in a different world, that Japan really is. Enjoy and let me know how you liked it
