Yoshinoya (Narita Airport) Food Review
When I arrived in Narita airport, it was past lunchtime and my stomach was rumbling. After claiming my check-in luggage, I decided to grab some lunch at the airport. It took me quite some time to compare the prices of the restaurants in Narita airport, since I wanted to save money for the rest of my trip.
There are a lot of restaurants in Narita airport, and I bet they serve good food. But I wanted to go on the cheap side, so I decided to eat at Yoshinoya, a fast food chain known for their affordable rice meals.
Travellers can grab some lunch at Yoshinoya for 600 yen (5 euros)
We actually have some Yoshinoya branches here in the Philippines, but I've never actually tried their dishes. Suffice to say, this was my first time to eat at Yoshinoya.
When I went inside, I was surprised to see a lot of Japanese locals and men in suits. The place was bustling with a lot of people; this seemed to be the go-to place for locals if they wanted a quick, cheap and filling meal. It was as if I walked into an anime scene!
I couldn't take a picture of the people eating in Yoshinoya. That would be rude! Instead, I took a selfie.
I was seated beside a Japanese man in a black suit, and he looked like he was enjoying his meal.
A waiter visited my table and gave me the menu. It took some time for me to choose what I wanted to eat, because everything looked so delicious!
The featured dishes in the menu are enough to make your mouth water.
After minutes of trying to decide what to eat, I ended up ordering the cheese curry rice bowl. I have to admit that it was an odd combination, but I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted like heaven. The cheese melted in my mouth and the curry was spiced just right.
A simple dish that tastes like heaven.
One other cool thing about the restaurant: you get a pitcher of water to yourself (well, not exactly, but you don't have to keep calling the waiter to refill your water cup).
The total bill was 560 yen (nearly 5 euros). Not bad for a fast food chain. I will definitely come back to this place when I visit Narita airport again.
