The opportunity came on the day due to theroud that we take from targu Mures to Bucharest and we decided to visit the fortress town located at a distance of 120 km from Brasov. Accommodation ...well we saw on the internet on the basis of two criteria: location as close to the fortress. I initially chose the Baroque House but after I gave her the phone and I found that cars no longer have access to the Citadel and also were free only upstairs rooms and access ladder are too small so I gave up. We've focused on Sighisoreană House situated close to the city about which I wrote a separate review and that was OK! How accommodation is made after two o'clock, on the way we stopped and visited the Citadel, the fortress fully restored last year but I missed the basaltic columns of the Racotzi that I have wanted to see them. Local people have told us that the path is dumb first and then not at all.
I parked the car and got it easy to step to the fortress, where I discovered a different kind of world, old style, keeping it alive. I've seen The tailors, Blacksmiths, The Tower, the clock tower. As in any tourist destination once you get up to the fortress you will find terraces where you can drink a cup of coffee, a soda or a beer, you can eat, souvenir shops etc. Very much worth visiting because the landscapes and you upload your energy.
. In the little-dead end where the pension is located at no 50 m is entered in BD. 1 decembrie 1918 and from here, passing most of the old houses, historical monuments, we arrived after about 300 m in the Centre. Here is Angela, the best pastry in town and in an absolutely gorgeous building, Pearl self-service restaurant and a little further, with an atmosphere of authentic vintage restaurant Boulevard. By giving the street Contemporanul I couldn't photograph the narrow streets paved and others with stairs leading into the city. I photographed the old buildings in Renaissance, Baroque or brightly colored, some offers with high gates, others with Saxon protruding balconies of wrought iron, some authentic medieval but all inclined.
We walked through the market, I admired the houses, I watched city views and because I had some time until 12 when exiting the figurines from the Tower, we visited the Armorial, a museum housed in a building from the city square and the weapons are exhibited chronologically and fire. If my brother was quite attracted to this city, I am interested morein the landscapes the costumes the tradition and not in helmets, chainmail, breastplates and other props. I admired the monument-historic houses: casa Vlad Dracul (lived here between 1431-1435 and set up a mint where he beat silver ducats); the House with the deer (17th century, built on a wooden dwelling before the year 1300); Venetian House with specific window framings. I chose to climb the Hill to the Church Street Staircase that ascent on cobblestone was easy and I had the privilege to go along with a number of old houses of 2-300 years.
In fact a legend says that in the old days if a boy wanted to win a girl's heart, she would have to kiss and to pronounce the name of mistake-free on each of the 300 steps of the stairway Covered. The Hill School was founded in 1522 but at universities in Vienna and Kraków since 1400 were well-trained students receive at Sighisoara. Originally the school curriculum included only Latin humanist but with the exact sciences were introduced and of nature. Collections of stuffed birds (500 copies), the collection of 100 Reihardt snails of the XIX century, the Herbarium with over 1000 species, are known to specialists from all over Europe.
We just we walked on the streets and I admired the architecture. I was tired, especially the little boy and I just wanted to walk. It was the first time in Sighisoara for us, even if we're close to home. We hope to come again to see more. I was also at the Church on the Hill, where I got those steps climbed many of the wood. Our job was dwarfing. Has climbed up to half slowly with us and then shoved the speed and beat us! I admired the scenery from the top, then I went downstairs to the hotel where we all three fell to Muralitharan.
Sighisoara has the only the only inhabited fortress in the whole world!
The clock tower of the main pole of attraction away from the city, the main pedestrian access gate of the fortress and at the same time most of the crowd of tourists crossed, is the symbol of Sighisoara, belongs to local authorities who arranged inside the Museum of history of the city. Has a height of 64 m, 6 floors, a balcony, a Baroque roof with 4 turrets representing the legal autonomy of the city, in other words an enforce capital punishment. The clock tower is unique in our country due to adorn the clock's figurines. These are fixed and mobile. Fixed the peace, justice and represents justice, while mobile represents weekdays represented by deities, and day and night, these forming a group of figurines.
What can you visit more in Sighisoara?
1. Evangelical Church-access after climbing the steps of the wooden tunnel, 2 euros entry and a very polite Lady guide tells us how he can't remember. Listen all the stories and decide that if its trueor not.
2. Museum of history-also known as clock tower: 2 euro/entry and no guide. The same description ponosite, didn't have the good sense to paint it even paneling and staircases. The view from the top is gorgeous, I see many foreigners do not stop with cameras. The scenery is so gorgeous, shame about the lack of interest of the administration.
3. I can not to omit The Medieval infantry that beat the drum and maintain the atmosphere of good taste; I can not forget the extremely high price of souvenirs-7 Lions magnet for 13 euros.
WE walk along the streets in the center of coffee: perfect cleaning, a delight to look at and a return to the past; average prices in the Café-coffee $ 4.
Is was a perfect day for me and my familly!
