What is it like to live in Tegucigalpa? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Tegucigalpa is a very active trade city, it's a small city where it's easy to meet people. The people there are very pleasant and friendly, it's a very good place to live a quiet life and has a good night life scene, too!

What is the student lifestyle like in Tegucigalpa?

There are a lot of university students, there's a lot of things to do in the higher education centres and there are a lot of really fun communities, which have everything!

How much does it cost to live in Tegucigalpa?

Compared to other places in the world, it's relatively cheap since the currency isn't very valuable. A well-priced student apartment ranges between L. 2, 500 and L. 6, 000 (Honduran lempira). You can find more luxurious apartments for L. 10, 000 plus. The food prices are very affordable, for example, a Big Mac costs L. 89 ($4. 50). Getting around by bus and taxi is cheap, as the city is small.

Was it hard to find accommodation in Tegucigalpa? Do you have any advice?

It's not hard to find accommodation here, there are always advertisements in the newspaper, and you'll see apartment vacancies in the streets. My advice for those looking for accommodation in Tegucigalpa is to look at the want ads in the newspapers there, you'll find a lot of different options there.

What is the food like there? What are some of your favourite dishes?

The food there is very delicious! Everything is incredibly well seasoned! My favourite dishes are the carne asada (barbecued meats), baleadas (a flour tortilla, often quite thick, folded in half and filled with mashed fried red beans) and pupusas (a thick corn tortilla stuffed with a savoury filling)!
