Discovering Dublin - Trinity College
Strolling through the inner city of Dublin around Grafton Street, you will most likely pass the entrance of Trinity College. This university with 17,000 students is one of the best in Ireland and has its place among the good universities in Europe, with a focus on arts and humanities as well as life sciences.
Entering the courtyard, you will see well-kept lawns and walk towards the central tower with two main buildings flanking you. You can make your way to the library which is one of the greatest in Ireland, and you can see the colourful 9th-century manuscript The Book of Kells which is famous for its fine golden artwork.
The university's buildings are built in classical style, reinforcing the strong tradition in education. You see that the buildings stem from the English times which brought the typical education system into Ireland.
I explored Trinity College with some international students from France, the Netherlands and Slovakia... the Irish students we met were really friendly and outgoing people! Go for it, explore for yourself!
