Some supermarket sales that you should know about Spar supermarket
SPAR Supermarket
Another supermarket, which offers you the discounts after 8 p. m. till 12 o’clock at night is this SPAR supermarket, which has some supermarkets across the city as far as I know. there are some of them, where I’ve been to and I don’t know, whether there are some other ones or not. However, those ones where I’ve been to are pretty large ones and they offer some good stuff to their customer, if you want to know the truth.
I think the first one, which was opened at first was this one above the Technical University metro station and many people were waiting for its opening as I remember. It’s a pretty large store with all those things, which are usually sold at the supermarkets and they have pretty good prepared food, too, besides sandwiches and eclairs and croissants, etc. They are pretty delicious, however, I can say I haven’t tasted much of their stuff because this supermarket is not that close to my home or to those places, which I usually visit. I don’t usually happen to visit SPAR supermarket, however, when I have a chance, I go into it and buy something, which I need or want at that time, of course.
So, once I remember, I had this lecture on the Kazbegi Ave. and it was an early morning and I got there early, so that I had some time until the lecture started. I wanted some coffee pretty badly and I had heard, that this SPAR had this breakfast menu discount in the mornings and I remembered that and, since this second SPAR supermarket was opened on Kazbegi Ave., I walked into there and ordered this croissant with coffee, I mean, it was this breakfast offer, so that I wanted to take it. This assistant was a new one, as it was found out later, so that he didn’t really know much about things there and he didn’t really make my order. Well, first of all, I waited for ages for him to brew that coffee and it didn’t really need that much time because you just have to push the button and it just makes that coffee itself, I guess, or at least that’s how it usually is everywhere.
Secondly, after all that waiting, he just didn’t know which croissant to take and he took a chocolate one and he gave me those things after wasting my whole time of being happy with the coffee and croissant until the lecture started. Well, finally I went to the cashier and when I gave him my order, he told me to pay double or something like that, when in fact this breakfast menu was supposed to cost 2 laris or something like that and I was like “What?” Then he explained things about my order and then I explained things about it. Soon it was found out that the croissant, which was supposed to be in that breakfast menu was French croissant, not the chocolate one, and that chocolate one cost the usual price and it didn’t concern the discount. So that since I had that chocolate croissant, the breakfast discount was not eligible and I had to pay for those things separately, as I would have if I didn’t order the breakfast menu.
However, it was not my fault, that this guy mistakenly did some things, so that I just wanted my breakfast menu and they were supposed to give me that one. Then it turned out that those French croissants were not yet delivered, so that they didn’t have any, so that they wouldn’t fulfill the breakfast menu. Well, I didn’t know what to do, however, I knew one thing, that I wanted my coffee and I could take that croissant, too, and, well, I decided to pay for that croissant, because the time was almost gone and I had to drink that coffee and, well, I could set that croissant aside and eat it after the lecture. I just wanted all that thing to end and to get out of that supermarket, so that I told them, that I would pay for the croissant, so that I could be free and I could go out, because it was really a long time, that I was there in that supermarket for some stupid assistant, who didn’t know his job. Well, finely the supermarket manager came and she apologized for the situation and told the cashier to let me pay for the breakfast menu and not the croissant too, because it was not my fault or anything, so that they would pay for their assistant’s mistake. That’s how I got out of that supermarket and I didn’t really want to go in there for a long time because of all that.
Despite that fact, I must say that those people have pretty good stuff in their supermarket and, well, maybe I don’t want to visit that one on Kazbegi Ave. I still visit the one nearby the Technical University metro station. You know, they have some good salads and sandwiches, which you should really buy, especially if it’s already after 8 p. m. and you want to buy something to eat. Or, maybe you want something to buy to it for the next day, or whatever. You should definitely visit it, because there are much more stuff during that time there, than it is in Ioli supermarket, because Ioli supermarkets are smaller ones than the SPAR supermarkets and the variety of offered dishes are much more in those SPAR supermarkets, than in Ioli ones, if you ask me.
However, there is this Food Mart near Delisi metro station, which offer not less variety of dishes, too. But still, SPAR is better, I guess. There’s another SPAR supermarket on Pekini Ave. It’s nearby the ending of Kazbegi Ave., I mean, the cross section of Kazbegi Ave. and Pekini Ave., though this one is not that big, however, they have pretty good stuff too.
What they offer on sale
Well, they offer plenty of dishes, I mean, that SPAR supermarkets are pretty large. When it comes to dishes, they have pretty good ones and many of them. They have all those sandwiches, which are looking pretty awesome and taste great too and one would love to have them as lunch or whatever. They also have those Lobiani and Khachapuri and stuff like that. It’s like you can buy them in half of their price and it’s pretty good, if you ask me.
Then there comes those salads and other things and they have that spinach with ground walnuts, which we love so much. It’s kind of expensive, I must say, and when they offer you that salad in half of its usual price, you should definitely take it, you know.
They also have this Mexican chicken fillets salad and it’s chicken fillets with red bell pepper and corn and spices and it’s really delicious and I usually buy that one, because it’s not very expensive and it’s delicious and it’s kind of a diet food.
And then there’s this chicken cutlets, which are just great if you are on a way and you want to eat something, which will kill your hunger, and, at the same time, you won’t have to eat anything else with it, I mean, some bread or something like that. Those cutlets are pretty enough for one person and I love them, because they taste great and they are pretty efficient.
And you won’t regret buying some chicken fillet mtsvadi there, which is those chicken fillets cut and put on a wooden stick and grilled or something like that and I just love them, because they just cost 2,70 laris usually and then you can buy them in half of that price and it’s really enough to eat that one stick of those chicken fillets to get satietied and everything, if you ask me. And you can even have some sauce or whatever eaten with them and then it’s just a dish like homemade one or something like that.
They also have these great eggplants with walnuts, which we love so much and, I guess, everyone loves them and when I prepared them here in Freiburg for our cultural thing, everyone just loved it and even teachers wanted me to write the recipe for them, so that it’s something worth buying, and, well, it’s usually pretty expensive and when I have a chance to buy them in half of their price, I definitely buy them.
One of the things, that I like about this SPAR supermarket is that they have kebabs in lavashi sold and they taste very tasty and I like kebabs in lavashi very much and once when I bought them, I just loved them, so that I usually buy them there, especially in that Pekini Ave. SPAR supermarket.
They also have these different salads made from chicken, I mean, they have chicken fillets with shredded carrots and chicken fillets with cucumbers in mayonnaise and things like that, which are pretty delicious and my brother and mother love them very much and we used to buy them, of course.
They also offer some potato purees and boiled buckwheat and eggplants with bell peppers to their customers, however, I don’t usually buy them in the supermarkets, because I can always prepare them at home and I prefer buying some other salads there, than those puree or buckwheat, you know. However, my friend just loves that potato puree and she doesn’t really cook much and she just goes there and buys that potato puree and she can eat plenty of the potato puree, if you want to know the truth.
So that, if you go to that SPAR supermarket after 8 p. m. until 12 a. m, then you will find those sales, there on their prepared stuff and, trust me, you don’t want to miss that chance there! However, many people know about those sales and some even wait for that 8 o’clock, so that they can go inside the supermarket and buy those things in half of their prices. And then there are some pretty popular things, which are sold very fast after 8 o’clock and you should not get surprised, if there are not many things left. And you shouldn’t get surprised. When you get there and you will see this line of people there, waiting for their turn impatiently to buy those things, that they want and some of them may even be very rude and stuff like that, you know. For example, there’s always this huge line in Food Mart supermarket nearby Delisi metro station, because there are always many people around there the whole day. However, I haven’t seen that huge lines in SPAR supermarkets, because they are pretty large and they have more assistants there, than that Food Mart supermarket.
Well, I really recommend visiting SPAR supermarket on Pekini Ave. , nearby the Technical metro station, where there are plenty of choices of those foods and dishes and everything and, besides, that is just a place, where you can get very easily by metro and get to your destination pretty fast by metro again. Well, that’s a great place for me, because I usually move around Tbilisi by metro and I can get out of it on technical metro station, get into this SPAR supermarket, buy whatever I want and then get into the metro again and get home or wherever I want.
So that it’s pretty efficient to move around the city by metro and, well, there are usually those kinds of supermarkets nearby all those metro stations mostly these days. I mean, there’s another SPAR supermarket nearby the Medical University metro station and it’s quite a good place for buying some things, too. And there are some other supermarkets like this one with sales during those evening hours nearby some other metro stations. It’s not that hard to find them and visit them, you know and, if you are having a party or something like that, it’s really a good idea to buy some of those things and salads and dishes there during those hours, so that, keep that in mind!
