The introduction

This day was a strange day as a whole, but I can’t really say why, maybe because I don’t really have an idea, but I felt kind of strange. Well, the first thing about this day was that it was the ending day of our clinical neurology classes and we had this midterm and presentations and stuff like that and then we just left and it was quite sad, I guess. Moreover, I had already decided that I would go shoppingand buy some things, especially I wanted to buy trousers and some other stuff. Well, I wanted to buy some shirts, too, and I had all these things planned and everything, you know.

Heart painting

But first, I had this painting of mine of an anatomical heart brought to the clinic to give it to my friend for her birthday present. To tell you the truth, she had her birthday on April 15-th, and since then I was painting this painting and finally, I decided, that it was finished and ready to be given as a present. So, we were sitting there on this neurology presentations and one of our friends couldn’t help but tell the other that I had a gift for her and I gave it to her and, you know, the whole auditorium saw it and she was just “screaming in silence”, so that she said and it was kind of funny, too, every one of us was red on faces, I guess, because of the screaming and emotions and stuff like that, and all this in the middle of the presentation! So, imagine that! And, well, then the lecturer just told us to listen and we tried, but in vain, if you want to know the truth. Shopping experience in Tbilisi

Smart supermarket

So, this whole thing was strange and then we left and went to this supermarket Smart and I want to tell you, that this supermarket is really nice, and they even have these prepared dishes, which are really delicious, and I just love their chicken dishes and the cakes are also great. I found some delicious ice cream cakes there, or I guess they were kind of cheesecakes, I didn’t really read the signs, but that was not a problem, because I will just buy them next time, because I wasn’t going home and it would melt, I guess, and it would not be a good situation at all. So, then I wanted to take those recipe cards from there. They have those recipe cards of their delicious cakes and dishes and stuff and the pictures are great, too, and if you don’t prepare them, you can just take them home and look at those pictures every day or so, because they are really nice and kind of make your day beautiful. I have many of those cards at home and I have them on my kitchen wall, too, so that when I’m in the kitchen I look at them and they are just pleasingly nice to look at while eating or preparing something and so on and so forth. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any of them there and I so hoped to find them and take some new stuff at home, but there was nothing there and I didn’t bother to ask someone whether they still had those recipe cards or not and I thought that I would find them in another Smart supermarket, which is located on Rustaveli avenue, so that I didn’t really worry about that. Well, then we went out and got to the bus station, where I would wait for my bus, which was going to the Station square, but then I looked at the stop board and it was about 35 minutes until the bus came, so I decided to take another bus. Actually any bus, which went to a metro station, so I did. It was also not very crowded and I had a place to sit and it was pretty comfortable relatively.

So, I went to the Rustaveli metro station, where I would wait for a bus to the Station square to come. To be honest, I would rather wait that bus on the first bus station, because the amount of time of my waiting and moving and stuff like that would have been the same, I guess. But, what could I do?! I waited for the bus for some time and at last, it came and I get on it and went to the Station square, where I would shop for some things that I wanted. There are all these shops and many other things and you can just find so many things there you can’t even emagine.

Well, it was a hot sunny day and I was wearing this jacket and I just wanted to take it off, but if I took it off, then I would have to put it in my backpack and then it would be heavier, so I just didn’t take it off and I was really hot, but then when I went to the shops it was not that hot, so it was bearable and I had my jacket on with sleeves up. And then was the time when my shopping started. I knew what I wanted to buy, but you know, that doesn’t always happen in a way that you want and this was not an exclusive, too, if you want to know the truth.

Shirts

So, the first thing I bought was a sleeveless T-shirt, which wasn’t that bad actually, and I did like it. I liked another T-shirt, too, but it was kind of strange and I put that back. So then I was just walking around, looking around and I did walk for some time and there were so many things, that I couldn’t look at all of them and those assistants and the sellers or whatever were like “can I help you? ” and stuff like that and, you know, it’s just unbearable when they are following you just in centimetres and you can’t really look at some stuff you want to buy, because when something’s following you so closely, your mind is there, nearby, thinking “why is she/he following me?! Can’t she/he just go away somewhere else?! ” and at that moment, I just want to get rid of them, even if it means getting out of that store, and in most cases, that does mean that! So, even if I like something really bad, I can just get out of the store because of those annoying consultants following around getting on your nerves.

Then there were these blouses that I discover. They were really cute and had all those things on them and, of course, there were some plain ones, too, and it was great to see so many of them, but I was looking for some kind of blouse that I had in my mind and one of them was similar, so I tried it on, but it was kind of strange on me, still I didn’t want to leave it like that, because I was walking around and searching and stuff like that, and it was somehow finally that I saw something like what I was looking for and I couldn’t just ignore it, so I bought it and, I don’t know, I haven’t tried it on yet, but, I guess, it will be fine, if not better.

Shoes

Then I went to shoes stores, where there were only shoes, sneakers, sandals and all other stuff you could want to buy, and there were pretty good stuff, if you want to know the truth. Since I had not planned to buy any shoes, I was just looking around walking there in those shops. Well, the thing is, it’s very bad when you have some things in your shop and they don’t have price tags on them, or just prices. Buyers look at the prices and then they decide whether or not they can buy it and if they like it. So, when there’s no price tag, they are forced to ask sellers the price and imagine, how many buyers come into the store a day and they all ask the same and the seller is forced to answer them and then, they get tired and I don’t get the point of it, I mean, one could get the price tag and just write the product’s price, right? So, why bother all these things of asking and answering when you can do just this simple thing and that will be it?! That is my question of all times, I guess, that I haven’t really asked to any seller and I probably won’t, but still, someone should!

Trousers

After that, I went to the trousers’ division. It was full of jeans trousers and there was a great variety of jeans and you would like many of them. And the prices were reasonable, too, so you just had to decide which one of them you liked or which one of them fitted you the best or whatever. I tried some trousers on, they were pretty good, but I can’t say that I liked any of them in particular, so I looked for others. I knew what type of trousers I wanted, but there were some others that I liked. But the thing was, I already had those types of trousers and by that I mean that I already have two of those and I didn’t want to buy more, but they were so beautiful and cute that I couldn’t help myself to try them on. Well, that was just for trying on, but then I tried on those ones that I would definitely buy, because that was the style I had in mind to buy for a long time and finally I went to shopping and it was time to buy that kind of trousers, so I tried some of them on and some of them were good, I can say, but I liked this one in particular. It was vivid blue and it had these gold colored buttons and it had high waist (that was the main criteria for the trousers I would buy), so I bought them. Although, it seemed kind of warm, I mean, it’s already summer and one should buy stuff that is meant for summer, but I don’t know, they were just good trousers, so I bought them.

So then, it was time for me to leave as it was already something like 3 o’clock and I had to be at home soon, because then I was going to go to Kakheti and I didn’t really know when exactly was that happening, but it was happening that day before the evening, so I decided to go home. And suddenly, it started raining, you know, it was all sunny and I wouldn’t anticipate some rain and I was kind of surprised, but I had to go home by metro, so there was nothing to worry about, it was just that my backpack was kind of heavy, but still, it was alright, as long as I was pleased with my purchases. Although, I wanted to buy another thing, you know, that jeans jacket they wear sleeveless or with short sleeves and I saw some of them, but I decided to buy them the next time, so the next time will come soon, I hope.

Well, to be honest, on my way home, there are some shops, too, and I just wandered there, and saw some stuff, but they didn’t have much to offer about those kinds of jackets and that was sad. Then I saw some jeans that I liked, too, and I wanted to buy them, but I was too tired to try them on and without trying them on I didn’t want to buy them, so I decided to leave them until I go there again and buy them, they were pretty good, I can say, though.

Shopping experience in Tbilisi

So, shopping here is fun somehow, and if you know where to find the things you want to buy, it’s just so much enjoyable and efficient, that you’ll want to go shopping all the time. I’m not saying, that I know everything and where to find everything and stuff like that, but I know some things and that helps me a lot to move around the city and buy the items that I want easily.

As I said, I was shopping at the Station square in Tbilisi, where there are lots of things. There’s Tbilisi Central, where there are lots of clothes and shoes shops, as well as technic shops and there’s also gold and silver jewellery market downstairs in Tbilisi Cental. There is also a bazaar nearby and there are people sitting outside selling products and clothes and bags and other stuff, so you can just decide what you want and go there and buy those things. There was also a large grocery store on the first floor in Tbilisi Central, where you could buy so many things for home and we usually went there for grocery shopping, but it got closed down and they opened Elit-electronics there instead of that grocery store.

In conclusion, if you want to go shopping and don’t want to go somewhere far away at the end of the city or something, you can go to the Station square and find many things there. Also, as I’ve said, the prices are pretty reasonable, too, and, of course, there are expensive and cheap shops and places to shop, so you won’t get all confused because once you get there, everything is like on its place, though it might not seem so. So, just go there and see it for yourself! It’s a place for everything and everyone, I guess, because there you might find so many people, that you can’t really imagine. And there are even more things there that I haven’t mentioned, but I will write about all those things in another blog, I guess.
