Prom. Preparation. Day 3

So, the “getting ready for the prom” cycle continues!

This was the day when my sister had to buy her dress and we went to this large store, where there would be many different dresses and where there would be easier to buy something that she really wanted and liked. Well, the day was just beginning!

The idea was to buy a dress and heels too, but the dress was the very important one, because there would be no other shopping outs, I guess, because people were busy in other days and stuff like that, you know.

We came there to this huge shopping place and started going in the dresses’ parts. It was not very easy to find where all those dresses and stuff were because the place is so large, but finally we found them and started looking for dresses, of course.

I must say, despite the fact that they also said that because they thought that the proms were already finished they didn’t really have much variety of dresses there and there were not many dresses, of course, but there were some of them, which could be seen as related to our prom anticipations. There were dresses with all those different types of ornaments and all the other things and they were all of different colours and materials and stuff like that. You just had to choose from them the one you liked and fitted well. And that’s the very hard part of choosing dresses, of course, because if it wasn’t hard, then everyone would choose very easilyand that would be it. Well, life would be easier that way, don’t you think?!

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

Trying on those dresses

The very first thing we saw was this red long dress with one shoulder and some things on it. She tried it on and it was not that bad, but this one shoulder was not very attractive to me. The material was great, though. And they kind of liked it too. However, that was the first dress that she tried on in that shop and there still were so many other dresses to try on and look at. Although we knew that my sister didn’t want a red dress anymore, because somebody from her class had already bought a dress for herself and it wouldn’t be a good idea if my sister had a red dress too. They would look the same, no matter how different the dress were, if you ask me. So that dress didn’t have a chance, I guess, but it was a really nice one.

Then we moved on to other shops with all those cute dresses and stuff. There were so many dresses, and yet, there was so little chance to really choose the right one from them, because my sister had some decisions about her dress and how it would have been skinny and stuff like that and there were not much of those, I guess. And many dresses were just short and while they were really cute, my sister didn’t want to wear a short dress. Otherwise, it would’ve been easier to choose from many of them, I guess, or maybe not, who knows. Sometimes it’s better when there are a few things to choose from and sometimes it’s better when there’s a big variety.

Well, there were some other pretty beautiful dresses and they all were kind of cute and I wanted my sister to try them on. To be honest, it was not that hot that day and the air-conditioning was cooling the areas around, and it shouldn’t have been very difficult to try some clothes on, but dresses? I don’t know about dresses. Besides, they were long dresses and I don’t know how my sister could try so many dresses on. Well, the thing was, she had to try them on if she wanted to buy something, otherwise one could not have possibly imagine how that dress would fit one and stuff like that.

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

It was already some hours that we were wandering in different shops and looking at those different dresses and my sister trying them on and then I was taking pictures of her, so that then she could look at all those pictures of her in different dresses and decide which ones she liked better and which ones she didn’t. So I took lots of pictures, I can say. It was kind of exhausting already that there were so many dresses and one should have picked one for herself. And the shops seemed to never end and there were more and more different dresses in each of them and the sellers were like “come here, my darling, which dress do you like? I can show you many of them and you will like them... ” and all the other things that they use to say to get you stay longer in their shop and buy something eventually. That’s really scary for me, because some people just talk to you in that kind of way, that no matter what you were looking for, you may end up with some thing that you just bought there with that seller. And maybe you don’t even need that thing that you have just bought, but you bought it because the seller couldn’t let you go.

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

Well, after seeing so many dresses, we ended up in some shop where she had more dresses tried on and, frankly speaking, I didn’t like any of them, but then she tried this blue dress and it was really okay on her, so everyone liked it and said that it was a great dress. Well, it was that kind of dress, that she was looking for, I mean, it was not red, it was long, it was skinny and it was cute in its own way, and that blue colour fitted her, too. So after some discussions and stuff like that, they decided to buy that dress! Yay! After so many hours of walking and struggling, the decision was made and the dress was bought! Then, of course were these other shops, where we went in, too, and she had some other dresses tried on, and, maybe she liked one dress in particular, but she had already bought a great dress and there was no need of buying another one, besides she didn’t like that dress that much, so we decided to go and buy some other things, heels in particular. But we couldn’t really find heels in those parts of the shops. Perhaps they were in another places, but we were all kind of tired and wanted to go home, so we just went towards the parking lot. On our way there, there were these jewellery shops, where we had some things bought for the dress. I mean, we bought earrings, a necklace and a bracelet, all in shiny silvery white colours and they were cute.

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

Another day for heels

Then it was time to get home. Heels were planned for another shopping day.

So the heels day came too. I had some lectures on that day and I was supposed to meet my sister and mother in Pasaji and we would see some heels and, hopefully, buy one of them. It was a very hot day and the road to Station square was just exhausting, but what could I do?! And until my sister and mother got there, I went to some shop and bought some trousers for me, which were really nice and not very thick, just for the summer, you know.

Then they called me and said that they were in Pasaji and I went there too. We started walking around, and there were some shops full of shoes and heels and stuff like that and we just went in some shop, where they saw some heels, but they didn’t really like any of them, I guess. To be honest, those heels were exactly the same in almost every shop. However, they had a couple of them which were kind of different. My sister was looking for black heels with high heels. Well, she is tall enough, but she wanted to be even taller, so that she would seem just great, so that we were looking for high heels, preferably black colour, or maybe silver or something like that. We saw many heels, but none of them were good enough and some of them were hurting her feet and toes and stuff like that. You know, when you have a prom and you know, that it will last pretty long, you want to have a great looking high heels, but at the same time, you want them to be comfortable, so that your feet won’t get hurt sooner and you won’t be forced to change them or something like that. You know, for my prom I had these amazing high heels that I bought and I thought at first that they wouldn’t last long, I mean, I thought, that they would hurt my feet soon and that I would have to change them and so that I took some other shoes for my prom, because I didn’t really think that those heels would be that comfortable. I hadn’t have worn heels before that, not to mention the whole day and night, and it was really surprising that I didn’t need to change them. In fact, I had those heels on for all during the prom and I was not even tired or something like that.

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

Anyways, my sister and mother decided that they didn’t like anything really in Pasaji and they wanted to go somewhere else. Well, I didn’t really want to go somewhere else and I didn’t really know where exactly we could go for high heels, and then I decided that we could go to Kidobani, as it was nearby and I knew that they had some stuff like that and, hopefully, they would have some heels too. And so we went there. We had to walk some and it was really hot, if you want to know the truth. Finally, we got there and, yes, there were some shoes and heels in some shops there and we were really glad that our walking wasn’t in vain. However, unfortunately, there were nothing that they liked there, except for this one high heels, which they saw in Pasaji too. So it was all for nothing, and they decided to go back to Pasaji and see those two heels which they liked most and buy one of them. Again, it was really hot outside! Then we had to go through some shops until we came to Pasaji again, and there were these clutches, my sister needed one and we were there for some time, looking at those clutches and deciding which one to take. Finally, my sister decided to take this silvery long clutch. It was alright. And the pricing was not that much too, I guess. I don’t know.

Well, we were in that heels store, again. And my sister tried those two heels on again and, well, she decided to buy those black ones with 14 cm heels and some ornamented things on all over them. She said that she felt kind of comfortable in them and that they were good to buy. So we bought them. And then it was time to go home, as we were all exhausted and stuff. On our way home, we had some places to visit too, but it was already kind of late and I knew that those stores wouldn’t be open by the time we reached them, so we decided to visit them the next day and buy all the necessary stuff for the dress or whatever.

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

So the other day, we visited some stores nearby our apartment to buy some necessary stuff, I mean, the small stuff for such events. It was not that much, but they were a big deal, so it took us some time to buy those stuff, because they couldn’t decide which one they liked exactly and which one would seem better on the dress and stuff like that. My sister tried many things on, and then finally she decided to buy one of them, though she wasn’t sure, whether she would feel herself comfortable in that thing or not. And we also bought some nail polishes. She wanted to have her nails in white and shiny blue stuff and we looked for those kind of stuff for some time too, of course.

Well then, I guess, everything was going great and all was left was to make an appointment to the stylist and decide about the hair style and the make-up. I guess my sister had already decided what kind of hairstyle and make-up she would get and she called the stylist too, which, by the way, I recommended to her with my friend’s recommendation and she really liked her, if you want to know the truth.

Prom. Preparation. Day 3

When we came home, my sister was just putting everything on and she had her dress on with all those jewelleries and stuff like that and she still wondered about her hairstyle. And, of course, she just used to take her high heels and put them on and walk into the rooms and stuff like that, so that she would have some practice and a little bit of experience of wearing high heels and so that she wouldn’t fall or something during the walking or dancing on prom. This way, the things were going well and she was just waiting for Monday. That was the prom day, Monday the 20th of June! Her appointment seemed a little later on that day, I mean, she was supposed to be at the stylist’s at 1 p. m. and her classmates told her that they were meeting each other somewhere around 4 p. m. and it was kind of impossible to be on time, because she had to come home, dress up and then leave for the meeting, but that was not a big deal, she could be late, of course, and they would wait for her. Besides, I didn’t really think that they would gather together exactly at 4 p. m. They never do. Everyone’s just late and everyone knows that. And that’s why they are late, I guess. I’m almost always late anywhere, if you want to know the truth. But my sister was kind of nervous about it, I guess, because she’s been in Germany for a year now and she has got used to their punctuality, you know.

I guess she was really excited about her prom. She was talking about it and messaging her classmates and all the other stuff people do before big events. She was preparing for her prom and she was nervous too, of course. Who wouldn’t be? One’s prom is a big event in one’s life, they say. So it was a big day for her the next day too, of course.
