Meeting a friend and eating cheesecake after all this time

The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about this day and how I met my friend and those different places,  where we were and tips about those places in Tbilisi.

Well, we were getting ready for this day for a long time and finally the day came and it was time for us to meet up and hang around. She had her exams passed and she was free and I had winter vacations, too, so that we could both go somewhere and see some things or visit some places, however, we didn't really had much time, still, because the I had to attend a lecture and it was at 4 p.m. so that we had time until that, you know. Well, we didn't really know where we could go, though, becausr there were some options, but we couldn't really decide about them, so we did a lot of thinking, well, at least, I did.

The first thing that occurred in my mind was this Pirosmani paintings exhibition in TBC bank gallery and I really wanted to see those paintings, because they have just been renovated and it's been quite a long time since they were last exhibited somewhere else, so that it would be a great thing to do and my friend agreed to that, too, however,  then we saw this information,  that the gallery was opening exactly at 4 p.m.and I was supposed to be on a lecture at that time, so that this option was not an option anymore.

So, I was sitting at the computer and scrolling down web pages to find somethibg, that was worth visiting and that would be a lovely place with some things to see and, at the same time, some place to have a lunch or something. There were some places like that, however, many of them were in such locations, that we would be really lazy to go to, I mean, we wanted something to be somewhere around Rustaveli avenue, so that we could both reach it very easily, and, besides, it would be very easy for me to go to my lectures after that on Kavtaradze street, you know. So, I remembered this place, the advertisements are all around Chavchavadze avenue and it's called Dinehall and its interior is pretty interesting, if you want to know the truth, so that we could go there. And I saw these photos of Dinehall, where there were these pieces of art and they were really worth seeing and I would love to actually see them there. So that, basically that art corner was the main reason why we decided to go there in Dinehall, however, we anticipated some expensive prices there, too.

Well, there were some other web pages that I looked at and there were these different discounts on some pretty good menus for two people,, however, they were all desserts and stuff like that and I don't really want to eat much sweet stuff and those kinds of desserts, so that Dinehall it was, then! To be honest, I was really intrigued by all those advertisements of Dinehall and I had been wanting to visit it for quite some time now and I was kind of excited that we were going to go there the next day. So, I had seen some photos of their desserts, too, and they looked very nice and beautiful and I thought, that they would have some good salads , too, that we could eat, I mean, we wanted to eat something light and not heavy and very Georgian and stuff like that.

Well, the day came and I was waiting for my friend to wake up so that we would plan when we were going to go out and meet up, however, it was already noon and she still didn't seem to be awake. Well, I knew, that she would wake up late, but I didn't think, that she would still be sleeping at that time, so that I sent a message on the phone and waited for her answer. Finally, she answered and told me that she just woke up and she would get ready. And while it was already noon, we decided that we could meet each other at somewhere about half past one. Well, I got ready and went out and when I was messaging her about her location it was like she was still at home and, therefore, I got a little bit earlier at our destination place, which was Rustaveli metro station. However, she got there not that late, I mean, she went by microbus and they are kind of fast when it comes to public transportation, so that I didn't have to wait much. However, she told me to walk towards the Dinehall, which was downside the metro station Rustaveli, you know, towards the Freedom square and so that I walked towards there. Then I took some photos of that Rustaveli avenue while waiting and soon she came,too, so that we could go to Dinehall and see what they were offering to its Customers.

Visiting Dinehall

Well, I guess, no one likes when they go into a store or someplace else and then there's this staff member, who just follows them everywhere and doesn't let them freely walk into there and decide something. So, when we entered this Dinehall, there was this girl there, who, by the way, looked really amazing and had a beautiful face, just like the artists love, I guess, and she welcomed us and I thought, that she would just tell us to come inside and things like that and then she would leave us alone, however, she just started following us everywhere and she was like shadowing us or whatever and it was very annoying, however, I tried not to pay much attention and focus on those things, that were around there and the dishes and the interior and stuff like that, you know. However, doing that became really hard, because this girl just wouldn't go away.

Well, we decided, that we could go "downstairs", where there were other dishes, besides the desserts and so that we went there. And soon this girl came there, too, so that we couldn't even move anywhere freely and it was getting really annoying, if you want to know the truth.

So, going downstairs was a bad idea, too, I can say, because when we got there, everything there looked very "manly" and it was for this Georgian national feast and the menu was the relevant to it, too, I mean, there were Khinkali and meat dishes and stuff like that and there were no salads, of course, except for one, or something like that and, everything was way too expensive, I mean, one khinkali cost 1.20 laris, when usually it just costs 70 tetris in most places. To tell you the truth, that's way too expensive, and, I guess, it would not even be anything special or especially delicious, you know. So, we decided to ask them about the salads, though we guessed, that they wouldn't have any good ones, I mean, they wouldn't have much variety of salads, either. Well, we still asked them about the salads and this lovely other girl told us, that they had some salads upstairs with the desserts and so that we went upstairs. There was that other girl, of course, and she told us, that there we could find some salads, too, and we sat at the table while she was getting the menus for us. Well, when we looked at the menu, there was nothing special there and there was not much of a choice of any sort of the salads or something like that. Well they had some pizzas and Caesar salad and some other things, however, they cost somewhere around 20 laris eachand, I guess, the portions wouldn't be any large or something like that. And while the desserts were looking very beautifully, we didn't want any dessert yet, so that after some time, we decided not to eat there and though I really wanted to look around there and see that art corner and be amazed by the interior and the decor and everything, this girl was just looking so moody, that we just went out and left for some other place.

Smart supermarket and cafe

So, there was this Smart supermarket nearby the Dinehall and we decided to go there as we knew exactly what there would be and, besides, they have some pretty good dishes there and they have this small cafe, too, and your cab just go and sit there comfortably while eating your meals and chat with your friend and they have this everything very well decided and I really like it, you know, so that it is really a reasonable and efficient place to go to and have a small lunch, or even eat very well, because they have all sorts of things and they have many delicious dishes and then there are these desserts and stuff like that and it's really very comfortable eating there. They also have a bakery, where they prepare those lobianis and khachapuris and pizzas and croissants and everything, you know and there's always a vast variety of foods that you can eat.

So that, we decided to get into this Smart supermarket and have some salads and, well, then maybe we could even eat some light dessert, however, I didn't really want to eat a dessert, but their cakes are really delicious and they are really worth trying.

Well, we went there and went directly to that section, where they have prepared dishes and started looking at each of them and tried to decide what we wanted to eat. There were many salads with rice and chicken and peas and bell pepper and spinach and eggplants and everything. I guess, the one thing that they didn't have was beans, I mean, usually there are some beans dishes on many supermarkets and they didn't have any, however, it was okay, because they had so many of them, that it was more than enough, if you ask me. So, we got pretty confused, because we wanted many things to taste, however, we knew, that the spoon which they use to take the dishes was really large and when you think, that they are taking a small portion for you, it actually becomes very large portion and then you are kind of shy to tell them that you don't want so much of that dish and you just end up with that huge amount of something, that you know, that you can't eat at that time, but you can't really do anything about it and you should either eat it and not take any other dishes, or eat as much as you can and take the rest of it with you or just leave it there or throw it out. Well, people mostly don't want to take it home, because it's really uncomfortable having some dish in your bag, especially if you are not going home right at that time, or if you have a small bag or something like that, you know, I wish they had smaller spoons for taking the dishes, because that way would be easier to have some lunch there , I mean, you could easily tell them to take a very small portion for you, because you want to taste some other things, too, and you just don't want to have just this one meal, because if you eat that one in that amount, you won't be able to eat anything else. Well, to be honest, I am really interested, why they take so much portion of one thing, when they know, that people are going to eat there in that cafe and don't want to take it away at home or wherever.

There's this thing everywhere, in every supermarket or every place where they have this prepared dishes section. The staff members just want you to take much stuff, I guess, or I don't really know, what exactly they want to say with that, but I definitely know, that someone should tell them not to take so much for the portion especially at that time, when the customer tells them that they just need a very small portion, I mean, I always tell them, that I want really, really small portion and thy nod and then they still do the same and put a huge amount of that dish into my container and I can't really see the amount that there is and I think, that they have considered me telling them that I just want a very small portion of that dish and look forward to being this portion very small, however, then when they weigh it and stick that check on them and give the container to me, then I see it and realise that it's too much and I can't really eat it at that time with something else, so I just have to eat that thing alone and not buy something else, because if I buy something else too, I won't be able to eat either of them or I will eat some of them and I will have to leave them like that or take them with me or something like that, however, I really don't like taking something with me, when I was supposed to eat that something in that particular place.You know, I take some dishes at home, of course, but they are supposed to have taken at home and not eaten in the cafe or somewhere else and when I have in mind to eat something at the cafe, I should be able to do that and not think about whether they will get me a large portion or not. Well, that’s really annoying sometimes, and that shouldn't be such problem, if you ask me.

Anyways, we thought about choosing some dishes for some time and then we decided to have some rice salad and some mushrooms and Nadughi (which I don't really know how it is in English or if it is known in other countries or not), which is a great thing, if you ask me. Those were the things, that my friend wanted to taste and I had Nadughi, too and some cooked beef in some stock, which was really delicious, though we didn't really like its look.

So, there are some tables, where it's really comfortable to sit, because there are those coaches with leather covering and they are pretty soft, however, they are always taken and then there are those long tables, where you can sit like in bars and stuff like that, and, well, people don't usually like them, of course, until you are alone or you just like sitting there. So, there were no places at those leather coaches tables and we had to sit at the long tables, and we had almost taken everything out and put them on the table and everything, when I saw, that some people at one table were getting ready to go, so that I told my friend about it and we got ready to rush to that table, of course. And then the second table got vacant, too, and there were some other girls like us with food in their hands ready to sit at that table and we were like racing and competing with each other and they went to that table, which was nearby the window and we had this other table just nearby us, however, we didn't really care about that until it was a table with those leathery coaches around it and we could just sit comfortably and chat and eat and everything, you know. well, then we just grabbed those plates and forks and knives and decides to have some photos taken until we ate those stuff and, you know, people usually take photos of the dishes until they eat themand that's what we did basically, too. It was pretty funny though, we wanted them to be beautiful, of course, and we just really tried to make them look gorgeous.

Well, to tell you the truth, the dishes there in smart supermarket are really delicious and they especially prepare dishes from chicken very well and they are really worth buying. They have some chicken dishes, that you can't really find in other supermarkets, such as chicken fillets in Mexican sauce and chicken in barbecue sauce or things like that. I guess, that's their thing or whatever, because when I think of something prepared with chicken, I just remember this smart supermarket right away.

Anyways, those stuff that we had for lunch was pretty delicious and then we kind of wanted to have some light dessert and they have desserts, too, as I've already mentioned and we went there in desserts section to see which cakes they had and whether we wanted to have any of them or not. Well, they had those white chocolate Eclairs, which they say, are very delicious, and they had Tiramisu and Opera and cherry pie and sponge cakes and other things, however, I wanted to have some cheesecake and they didn't have any. and that was really sad, however, we couldn't do anything, and, well, i guess my friend wanted to have some Tiramisu and, we both love Tiramisu, I must say, though I didn't want any Tiramisu at that time. So that we decided not to have a dessert there. then I had this idea of going to Coffeesta, which is a great place and it was just nearby and I knew exactly that they would have some cheesecake there and my friend wanted to taste a cheesecake, too, so that we went to Coffeesta to have a bite of one of their cheesecakes.

Coffeesta

Cooffeesta is one of those cafes, where you can drink great coffee and have some snacks and desserts or things like that. Its a place just nearby the Rustaveli metro station and its called The Exhibition, where Coffeesta is located. Well, there are always many people there, because it has a good location and, besides, its a cozy area and everyone likes sitting there sipping some coffee and enjoy the time being there.

Well, we went there to have some cheesecakes and when we got there, they had these blueberry cheesecake and berries cheesecake and cherry cheesecake and things like that and we couldn't really decide which one to take, because we knew, that we couldnt eat much, and we decided to have one piece of cheesecake and cut it into halves and eat it like that. So that, we had to choose just one cheesecake and we didnt know which one to choose. After some time, we chose to have that blueberry cheesecake and it cost somewhere about 4.80 Laris, I guess, and we took it and went upstairs to see if there was any table available. Luckily, we got this one table vacant and we sat there. It was a cute round table with that old look and stuff like that and the lights were kind of dim and the people around were busy drinking coffee and surfing the Internet or chatting with each other and everyone had their own stuff to do and it was pretty good there, if you ask me. Of course we took some photos and everything and it was a historic day, I must say, because it was the first time, that we tasted the cheesecake and we loved it and it kind of became our favourite dessert after Tiramisu, I guess.

So, we had to leave Coffeesta soon, because I would be late for my lectureand we ate that cheesecake quickly and went outside and I decided to go there by metro, so that we said good-byes and went to opposite directions.

Well, we had a nice meeting _ me and my friend and, it would have been better if we had more time, however, that was pretty good, too, and we had a good time hanging out in Tbilisi.You know, this kind of things are necessary for everyone, because that way you kind of get out of your daily life and see something else, too, I mean, its not good to just sit all day and study or just be at work and then come home and do nothing and stuff like that, you know. You should go outside and see the world, because nothing will stop the growing old process and when you grow old, you will regret not hanging out much and things like that.
