Why did you choose to go to Tampere, Finland?

Because it's a much different country from my country (Hungary), furthermore the infrastructure is well-developed, and because this country has a lot to give you. For example Lapland, northern light, Santa claus, forests, rivers, lakes.. It's a beautiful country!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship is 4 months, or a year, depends on how long the people are going there. The living costs depends on where will you live and if it's a single room, or shared room. So it can be just 200 but it can also be 500.... The food is really expensive, just as going out.. But I think people who are going to Erasmus, want to enjoy their time, so maybe 350/months, and it still doesn't include the costs for traveling to Stockholm, Tallin, St. Petersburg, Lapland that are places that you shouldn't miss if you are already in Finland..

Would you recommend the city and the University of Tampere to other students?

I would definetely recommend the city and the University as well. The city is wonderful, with several opportunities such like: clubs, wonderful places and the university has a well-developed system, you can learn a lot there, if you pick up the righ courses. (there's also some really easy courses too, that doesn't give anything new).

What is the food like?

In the school cafeteria you can get meal for 2. 60 euro which is nothing for main meal, salad, bread and juice/milk/water. Furthermore the food is mostly really delicious.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Tampere?

No.

How much does it cost to live in Tampere?

Including the accommodation and parties, food it's approximately 650, but it really depends on the accommodation.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, they have several kind of language courses. The Finnish is really difficult.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Tampere from your city?

Go to Budapest by train/car, then take the Ryanair flight which takes you to Tampere.

Roskat, Café Europa, Union, Tivoli, Miami.
