Why did you choose to go to Tallinn, Estonia?

I wanted to discover this part of Europe. Moreover, Tallinn is well located to travel to other countries like Russia, Finland and so on.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I just have the Erasmus scholarship, 1000€ for one semester. Fortunately, my parents can help me.

What is the student lifestyle like in Tallinn?

The student lifestyle is nice. All Erasmus students are very friendly so it's impossible to stay alone here.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Tallinn to other students?

I recommend this city and also the Tallinn University of Technology even if the level of master courses is low.

How much does it cost to live in Tallinn?

Unfortunately, the rent of my apartment is quite expensive compare to other friends' apartments.

As I'm from France, for me, the food prices are approachable.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Tallinn from your city?

I'm from Paris so the only way to come here is by plane but there is not direct flights. The cheapest way to come here is to go to Helsinki and take a ferry after this or to go to Riga and take a bus like Lux Express.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Tallinn?

I recommend to go first to some Erasmus parties to meet some people and then try to discover some other bars with their own atmosphere like the Protest bar.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

First, of course, you have to visit the Old Town and some other places in Tallinn like the Russian market, the prison and so on.

Then, you can rent a car or take some buses to go to the national park and the prison of Rummu.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Tallinn in the future?

Be prepared for the winter because it's getting dark early in the day, so sometimes, for foreigners, the lack of sunlight can be depressing.
