Why did you choose to go to Tallinn, Estonia?

I chose Tallinn because it is a very beautiful city.

And also because I wanted to spend at least one semester in BFM. (Baltic Film and Media School)

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I got a scholarship for 6 months. 300 euros a month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Tallinn?

Very active. Lots of events are organized by ESN Tallinn.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Tallinn to other students?

Yes. City is very beautiful and not crazy expensive, but that really depends on your life style.

What is the food like?

Food is great. Especially Kalev chocolate.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Tallinn?

Tallinn university offered me a dormitory.

How much does it cost to live in Tallinn?

~300 euros a month is pretty much enough if you live in a dorm.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are Estonian language courses offered in TLU. Estonian language is not easy.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Tallinn from your city?

By bus. Not the fastest, but the cheapest.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Tallinn?

There are lots of great bars in the Old Town.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Tallinn?

I would recommend Hotokas and Estonian burger factory, if you like that type of food.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Tv tower, Pirita beach, Viewing platforms, Old Town, Tallinn Zoo, Patarei prison.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Tallinn in the future?

A lot of people speak English pretty good, at least around Old Town. Also people are quite friendly and helpful.

It rains a lot in here and its usually crazy windy.
