What is it like to live in Sydney? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Living in Sydney can differ depending on the type of person you are. It's a big place and always seems busy so if you prefer a quiet life then perhaps Sydney isn't the best place for you. However, if you enjoy a fast paced atmosphere with plenty of interesting people to bump into then I definitely suggest giving Sydney a go.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

One of the best things about Sydney is its multiculturalism, which includes of course cuisine:

You can find

  • very good fresh-made sushi from the sushi-train
  • authentic Italian style pizza
  • Greek or Middle Eastern bakeries for a try of some delicious cakes and pastries

But if you really want some authentic Aussie food, nothing beats hitting the pub and having a big juicy steak or a quality burger with plenty of hot chips.

What places would you recommend visiting in Sydney?

Darling Harbour and The Rocks is an awesome place to be when it's nice weather; some of the buildings there date back to the first settlement of the English fleet. Another great place to visit is of course our famous Bondi Beach, but even the shopping centers in the heart of the Sydney city can offer great surprises (especially when there are sales on).

Is it good to eat out in Sydney? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Eating out in Sydney can be an awesome experience if you know the right spots to dine. Always research the restaurant or cafe for the reviews of other customers before, that way you can never go wrong.

Is the nightlife good in Sydney? Where is it good to go?

Just like dining in Sydney, nightlife can be amazing as long as you know the places to go. World Bar at The Cross has a fun vibe and plenty of places to dance, and also places like The Ivy and Argyle are considered as great places to be on a night out (depending on who you ask). If you're part of the LGBT community or just wanna experience what it's like to go to a gay bar or club, Oxford Street is Sydney's hub for all who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and other. And the venues never say no to anyone who knows how to have a good time.
