How to get to Helsink from Stockholm

Hi,

I am writing this to give you information on the easiest and cheapest way to get to Stockholm.

What I did was catch a flight from Brussels (Charleroi) to Stockholm (Skavsta). When you are there, catch the bus (the one provided by Ryanair) and it will take you straight to the city centre. It costs about 5 euros (but remember, they use coronas, not euros), and make sure you take advantage of the 2 for 1 offer (one way). This will drop you off at the main station, it's called City Terminalen or something similar. Your average metro ticket will cost about 40 coronas if you're younger than 20, and 60 coronas if you're older.

If you want to go from here and visit Helsinki, what you can do is buy a ticket for the boats that go there. You can chose one of two companies: Viking Line or Silja Line.

I'd recommend Viking Line, as not only was it the one I used, but it is the cheapest too. In Winter getting a cabin is compulsory and the cheapest we could get, being young etc., cost us 150 euros for a return trip per person. You can buy them on the internet.

To get from the train station to where the Viking Line boats depart from you'll need to head towards Slussen. To do this, you can grab a train (green line) and then follow the dock until you see the company's office (and you will as it's pretty big).

The trip takes the whole night, and usually, the boat leaves at 16:45 and then arrives at 9:00 the next day. Bear in mind that Helsinki is an hour ahead too.

If you don't want to visit Helsinki, no worries, there are loads of things to do in Stockholm too.
