How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

12 months scholarship. 350€ monthly. Enough to cover parts of my living expenses.

What is the student lifestyle like in Stockholm?

As Stockholm has lots of universities and many international students, there are always some events going on.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Stockholm to other students?

Since I am not enrolled at the University of Stockholm I can not make any recommendations.

What is the food like?

The food is good but quite expensive compared to other European countries.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Stockholm?

As a so called 'free mover' I am not eligible to apply for any student houses. Hence finding accommodation was quite difficult for me.

How much does it cost to live in Stockholm?

Living expenses are high in Stockholm and surroundings. As a general rule in Sweden , living costs rise with the way towards city centres and the way up north.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are language courses at every university. Most Swedes speak perfect english.

Flights are usually the cheapest way to travel inbound and outbound

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Stockholm?

Ostermalmstorget and the area around Globen.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

  1. Skansen
  2. Drottningholm,
  3. Stockholm Archipelago.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Stockholm in the future?

Get the Mecabatkortet or Studentkortet for public transport.
