What is it like to live in Stockholm? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I have one son in Umea erasmus student in biology. In september he is coming back in Aberystwyth for his last year but as we are not living in Europe I am looking for him one accommodation for July August mid September. Umea is nearly impossible
