What is it like to live in Stockholm? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Being the capital of Scandinavia, Stockholm just entertains you with a lot of architectural marvels which throws back to the designs of the 40s or 50s. I've found Stockholm quite loving towards the nature because wherever you go or whatever you see, it has something to do with saving the polar bears. The Swedish people are greener than the greens in our salad and I feel that they are very down to earth. They are calm, soft spoken, great when you need help because I've never come across one Swede who has denied help when requested.

Yes, I would definitely recommend Stockholm to my friends and family for studies, careers and for a pleasant vacation.

What is the student lifestyle like in Stockholm?

Work hard 5 days a week and party hard 2 nights a week. The syllabus is a bit challenging but once you get the hold of it, you'll start liking it. And I'm sorry for not being a party guy and so I can't write much about it. But there are so many happenings in the city that will definitely interest the students who stay here. Moreover, it would be better to explore it themselves.

How much does it cost to live in Stockholm?

Well, if you compare it to the Indian rupees, it is definitely costlier. But if we start worrying about the cost, it will be a bit hard to live here. Consider this as an investment, spend the amount, work hard and you'll earn what you've spent sooner than you realize.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Stockholm? Is there any advice you can give?

Yes! No matter how urgent it is for you to find an accommodation, you have to wait in a queue, irrespective of who you are. You will have to register in various housing companies and then wait in queue, which is basically the waiting period that starts once you've done your registration. The motto is simple, longer the waiting days, the most likely you get the room. Some housings expect you to pay a small fee to wait in the queue. And for students, I request you to register to the student union of your university and visit sssb which targets students looking for accommodation.

You can also check Huge, Bostad Stockholm.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are a variety of foods here and you'll never lose the urge to taste new food. They are plain, simple, green and low on carbs.

They are exactly opposite of what I like. I love very spicy food and I don't get that here. Well, at least most of the time.

My favourite would be Kannebullar (cinnamon rolls). The best in the world.

What places would you recommend visiting in Stockholm?

Ostermalmstorg during weekend nights; )

Djurgarden, the king's palace and a lot more. Just get down a bus or metro and take a walk. I'm sure you'll love it and will not be disappointed.

Is it good to eat out in Stockholm? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Definitely Yes.

Vapiano in Gamla Stan. Italian restaurant for pizza and pasta lovers. It's so yum that mentioning about it made me feel hungry now.

Is the nightlife good in Stockholm? Where is good to go?

I would love to spend the night with online gaming and pizza but Yes. A lot happens at night. A lot.

Ostermalmstorg, Slussen will entertain you.

What advice would you give future students heading to Stockholm?

Learn basic Swedish. Swedish people love hearing Swedish from foreigners.

Before selecting a course, go through the course and make sure you've made it clear on how you'll be learning the syllabus, in which method, whether the method you've learnt in your homeland is of any use and if not, try to go through a bit about the method that is used here.

Come here, enjoy yourself, study hard and enjoy again. Good luck!
